The reason he got sucked into darkness at Destiny island was his own fault. Just a bored and restless teen who really wanted to leave home and found a way to do it. Just my opinion, of course.

That he stayed with the bad guys after that was a mix of several different reasons. First, there was Kairi. But once he found Sora, he could easily have joined forces with him to save their friend. But then there was Maleficent, a bunch of misunderstandings and deeply hurt feelings. I'd be angry too if an evil witch convinced me that my best friend wanted nothing to do with me anymore. Still just my opinion.

lol If Riku reched his hand a little farther than I think wouldn't both Sora be in darkness or Riku stay with him? that just popped intp my mind for no reson lol

I think things would've worke dout if Sora managed to grab Riku's hand, but he couldn't, since he didn't accept darkness as a way out.

the malifacent said that if riku went to darkness kairi will get her heart back and riku thought sora was showing off because he had the keyblade
