I have a question about the bible.

why is it that appearently, someone knew everything that ever happened? and decided to write it down, and then people believed everything?

seriously, is there any actual physical proof that any of that is real? people have been writing fictional stories forever, why is the bible any different? isnt the bible the christian version of greek mythology to a certain limit? i mean, their mythology was all lies, and made up junk. and the romans STOLE their beliefs and changed the names, etc...
y is the bible not regarded as mythology?

That's where the whole argument lies. The whole belief resides in wether or not the Bible is regarded fiction or non. That choice is yours to make. The New Testament is about a man who was nailed to a cross, right? That would be considered non-fiction. The stuff in the Old Testament might be considered either regarding faith and belief.

fiction Audio pronunciation of "fiction" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fkshn)
n.

1.
1. An imaginative creation or a pretense that does not represent actuality but has been invented.
2. The act of inventing such a creation or pretense.
2. A lie.
3.
1. A literary work whose content is produced by the imagination and is not necessarily based on fact.
2. The category of literature comprising works of this kind, including novels and short stories.
4. Law. Something untrue that is intentionally represented as true by the narrator.

nonfiction Audio pronunciation of "nonfiction" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (nn-fkshn)
n.

1. Prose works other than fiction: I've read her novels but not her nonfiction.
2. The category of literature consisting of works of this kind.

The Garden of Eden was the first child pornography ring to ever be created. It featured over 25 experienced preteens and would charge upto $500 per hour where the girl could be treated how they wanted. Even beaten.

I thought Joan of Arc was his wife.

no, but seriously. I really admire Joan of Arc... and I was talkintg about my mother the other day about whether she was crazy or did she really hear the saints talking to her. It's all a matter of faith. If you believe in it, then you know it is true.

I admire her too. And you have a point. Its all a matter of faith. Thats what God is supposed to be testing us for anyway. Faith. Smile If we believe in him then we get rewarded with a life better than this otherwise we go to Hell.

I remember having a popup bible series. My favorite ones were Daniel and the Lions and the story of Moses. That one is my favorite even though I'm not Jewish. The seven plagues were interesting to read about. Smile

The beginning of the Bible (the Garden of Eden story) was written so people back then could visualize how everything was created. As far as I know, that's the only fictitious part of the Bible.

You can all choose your own paths, but they will all lead you to the same place.

The most believable piece of fiction ever written. If someone published a book claiming it was the voice of God, people would think he was nuts. What, did God just stop talking? Because it's old, it's true? Oh right, faith. Well I believe Robert Plant is the true Jesus, and all you non-believers will be raped with mudsharks for eternity.

Still doesn't make it true (or does it  ).

Does anyone watch Red Dwarf?
If so you will've seen the joke where a news reader reports that the first page of the bible has been found. It says something along the lines of:

'To my darling Candy. All characters portrayed within this book are purely fictional, and any resemblance to real people living or dead are entirely coincidental.'

Heehee thought you might like that! Very Happy

The Bible is really a bunch of little books combined into one big book. It consists of the old and new testaments and there are various authors all who have experienced, witnessed and taught from God and Jesus Christ his son that makes up different books of the bible. It was a combination of people that witnessed the events such as historical figures like King David, Abraham, Moses, etc. and Jesus disciples. So that means its not Myth or fictional characters, as thousands of people witnessed theses events through history. Even there is documental evidence on remains of Noahs ark today and evidence of a great flood. Myths never have a witness or evidence of any kind. After all, everything written about history had to have been witnessed. Whether one chooses to believe or not to believe doesnt change the events that have happened. The bible speaks of creation so take a long hard look at the world above, beneath and around you and how the web of life is made so perfectly connected together and how each living thing has its purpose. Its a myth to believe something comes from nothing.
