Innovation was the name of the game for Nintendos showing at E3 2005. Never before has one company demonstrated so many unique concepts, risk-taking technology, or innovative ways to play. Nintendo doesnt come off as a desperate also-ran, but more like a wise master.
Wow, G4 actually complimented Nintendo. The "Big N" has been around longer than most of the genres!

No, you won't be able to stick 8-bit NES cartridges into the Revolution. The story is that you'll be able to download them for play on the Revolution (like ROM's and emulators).

Really looking forward to the Revolution.

Don't care about any games coming out for it, though. It's all about the old school SNES/NES games, baby.

N64, too, but only for Perfect Dark and Ogre Battle 64.

I would go for the PS3 or the X-box 360. The Xboxes name is name is gay but hey its X-box. My first chice would be the PS3 because I like RPG's like Final Fantasy and Xenosaga, I hope Namco thinks of a new one for PS3.

Ever realize that the NES Zapper is one of the few gun controllers that didn't require you to put some form of wireless receiver on the TV for it to work? The way it works is so intuitive, it's almost scary.

Wireless has little to do with it. Many console guns required that you place some form of receiver on the television set to define the boundaries/size of the television screen so that it'd know where you're aiming, but the Zapper, you just pointed it at the screen, pulled the trigger, and (pow!) hit or miss. According to wiki, the way it worked was that when you pulled the trigger, the NES would flash the TV screen blank for a single frame with a white box representing the target you're supposed to be shooting, and the LED sensor would record whether you were aiming at the bright spot or not -- easy hit/miss detection.

That explains why the screen always 'blinked' when you pulled the trigger.

Is a really hard decision actually, I'm rooting for both Xbox 360 and PS3..... I havent seen any of the systems, but I've heard a lot of great things about both. I've heard that 360 will feature standard wireless controllers, MP3 player, disc burner, movie player, and installed online capabilities instead of having to purchase XBOX LIVE. On the other hand, the PS3 from what I've heard, will be able to burn games, movies, and music CDs, MP3, and movie player.

I've also heard that the 360 looks like a giant IPod with a PS2 look mixed in with it. For the PS3, I really havent heard anything about the way it looks, other than it looks kick ass and clean. Pretty much the same exact thing as 360, jus that I kinda rely more on Microsoft since they know how to build great, reliable systems and comps. Both are going to be tough to beat on the market but I'm rootin for both Very Happy I'm not taking sides Smile

I heard that the Revolution will have wireless controllers as well. Strata, can you verify that for me?

Why me? It's not like I have any connections with Nintendo or anything... but I did hear, in G4's E3 coverage, that they said the Revolution's controllers will be wireless.
