When I visited Japan with my cousin, we stayed at a relative's house in Kamakura. It's about an hour away from Tokyo, and when we went to Tokyo, there was actually a lot of non-Asian people. I met a few people who spoke English too. There's a lot of tourists in Kamakura too, even though it isn't a big city like Tokyo. It has a beach though, and it's really peaceful there. o.o

It was very confusing since I don't actually know Japanese except for being able to read hiragana and a little katakana, so I had to stay with my cousin the whole time. >>; I only stayed for three days though, and one of the days we slept the whole time since the timezone is so screwed up there. x_X

I still want to visit Kyoto, though. ;-;

Wow really there aren't alot of Asian people there. Wow now that makes me want o go more.Not because i don't like Asians but because now I can understand people and maybe get someone to be my translater.

No, that's not what I meant. >_< Most of the people are Asian, I just meant that there were more tourists and people who had moved from other countries than I thought there would be. Plus, not all of them speak English. Sorry for the confusion. ^^;

I am currently learning Japanese,and I have to say it is a lot of fun. Learning it is easier than I thought it would be. Now if I ever go there I have to try Sekihan. Its a Japanese vegitarian dish. Anyway there is 1 word I just cant seem to pronounce. its please.

Animecheerleader, I think that 200 yen is about 1.80 dollars. But I think stuff in Japan is REALLY expensive! I was in the airport in japan (Yes, I was extremely excited) and I wanted a postcard, but one postcard was 100 yen and the manga was... erm, inappropriate... There were naked women on the cover of a manga magazine! O_O I know that Japan is more open about this stuff, but still...

Wow, SL. I wish I could go to japan like you. I was only passing through and I didn't get to even go in the city (just the airport). Coolies! ^^

"Please," huh? There are many ways to say "Please." But if you're talking about "Please do it for me" like a request, then it's "onegai" (Oh - neigh - guy) To make it really, really formal, then it's "onegai shimasu" (Oh - neigh - guy - she - mah - suu)

But if you're talking about "Please, go ahead" or "Please, do it" like you're allowing someone to help you or something, then it's "douzo" (Doh - zo)

(This next part is confusing) If you link "please" to a verb, for example: "Please eat." [Eat is "taberu" (tah - bay - roo)] You must use the "te" form for the verb "eat" then add "kudasai" (coo - dah - sigh) so it's "Tabete kudasai" (tah - bay - te - coo - dah - sai)
