It's kinda weird to "talk" to people and not really know how old they are. I'm a little new (well, compared to lots of people) to this whole "forum" thing, and I find myself assuming that everyone here is my age just because I'm used to hanging out with teens like myself.
Then I find out there are people in their twenties and (gasp!) thirties!
Makes me feel so young. |

Female, 17 (18 in July) and a senior in high school. Graduating this year, woo! Well, not really excited about the actual graduation, more excited about getting the hell away from the immature morons in my school. Thank god.
I heard mention of Michigan? Who's from Michigan? I'm from Michigan. M Go Blue? |

Most of the people I talk to online are between 20 and early 40s. I forget most people here are so young, especially considering what I talk about with said 20-40 year olds is stuff from decades ago and if I bring it up here everyone thinks "what the hell?". Bah, I'm not hip wit da youngsters and their hippety hop and the blingbling. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Fallen, I wuv you. ^_^ I am exactly the same way, online and off. One of best friends in the world is 14 years older than me. I am definately not into the whole pop culture that goes along with being a teen. I fit in a lot better with older people.
You know, that a big compliment to our maturity doll. ^_~ A.k.a.--we rock. |

I wuv you, too. I dunno, part of it's that even when people are bitching about their problems, they have real problems. None of this "Oh my god, Billy said he kissed me! ewwwww!" crap. They've done interesting things, been interesting places, known interesting people (and in my case, those interesting people tend to be rockers), and I'd much rather hear about what they think than some snot nosed punk who got laid off from Burger King. I'd rather be told about the fight at the Cat Club last night than how much your math teacher sucks for giving so much homework.
That's not to say I don't enjoy associating with younger people, I do, but I forget that "billy said he likes me!" is the highlight of a lot of people's lives here. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Yeah, there aren't to many people my age that i hang out with. I hang out with some kids from my school, but not to much. I just tend to get along with the older groups and such. Much love to the older folks
And Jake, why do you think so and so acts younger? *scratches head thinking* i always thought weasel acts all right and is much more mature than a lot of people around here. Much more mature than i want to act sometimes with some people
*stares and mutters to self*
Sorry, people are just getting on my nerves and being out right rude for no real reason doesn't exactly keep you off my list to beat some sense into. |

TsukiNoNeko, Fallen, I love both of you.
I went to this walk-a-thon thing Friday night with both Girl Scouts and my school's Interact club, but I hung out with the scouts the whole time because they're a lot more mature. When Interact started singing karaoke (my poor ears), my friend turned to me and said "whoa, you're nothing like them". Kinda goes along with what TsukiNoNeko said about "the whole pop culture that goes along with being a teen". Never really been into it. I relate better to older people, but I can still be immature in my own ways ever now and then. _________________ |

Yea Kate!! Hey, how close are you to Novi? If it's not too far, you should go to the Motor City Comic Con at the Novi Expo! It'd be great to see ya!
Amy, it's good to hear that there are beginning to be more and more people like us in the world. When I see the people at my school, it really depresses me to think that there are so few intelligent people in the world, but when I see cool people like you guys on here, it makes me feel a little better. ^_^ |

haha hurray for all you mature people! go you!
heh i get along better with older people alot of times, too. mostly it's because a lot my interests are not common among people my age. i'll talk to my grandma about old movies all the time, and theatre is often more of an adult-thing, too. i don't mind acting immature or having people around me act immature (lol my friends definitely do), it's just sometimes i don't have patience for it or just wish i could have more serious conversations with people my own age. then again, i should probably enjoy the immature-ness while i still can, since soon enough we'll all be forced to be mature, in actions as well as interests. _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

I'm from Michigan! I'm on the Macomb - Oakland County line.
I don't really support U of M or MSU. They confuse me too much. I want to go to Air Force Academy. yeah... |
Well, until you reach a certain age there's only so much you can do.
I know. That's why I don't associate with younger people that much. Not blamin' 'em for it, and I don't try to force them to relate better to me. I don't try to talk about Dokken or Tesla or Hanoi Rocks here because no one (well, save for a couple people, probably) would have any idea what I'm saying. I don't try to get people's opinion of Metal Skool being locked out of their last show at the Viper Room or C.C. DeVille being dragged out of the Cat Club on his stomach. I leave those things elsewhere and relate as much as I can to whatever topics pop up here.
And ain't it just peachy.
(woo, Fallen feels wuvved! )

I'm not so close to Novi My dad lives in Warren, so I'm somewhat close.. sort of. I'm down in Wayne County, right by Wyondotte, if you know where that is. I'd like to go to that convention, I'll just catch a ride from one of my friends if I can. When is it? |
