but they're the reason for Ozzy Osbourne being around
Ozzy is a beatles fan
He wanted to be the Beatles. That's why he joined [what became] Sabbath in the first place. Their situation led to the drastically different sound, but the Beatles were his inspiration to join a band. And yeah, he's still a huge fan.
EDIT: Ya gotta figure, he helped define that heavier genre. Before Sabbath and Zeppelin and the like, it was all very Beatles-like. Listen to the Osbournes Family album for some of his favorite songs. You'd be surprised. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Split the topic.
He didn't leave so much as he was kicked out in '78. He was drinking, showing up late or not at all, and all around being "difficult" because of the drugs. So they kicked him out. I think it was Bill who was left to break the news to him, even if it wasn't his decision.
He DID quit Sabbath in '77 because he was on tons of drugs and annoyed with Tony's control over everything, but he came back the next year after solo projects didn't work out.
I like him in Sabbath, and he was by far their best frontman (nothing against Ronnie, but...not Sabbath), but most of his solo career has been top notch. Right up to No More Tears, and there's a lot of good stuff on Ozzmosis that goes unnoticed. Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, and No More Tears are by far the best. I like No Rest For the Wicked, though, can't see why so many others don't.
So yeah, short answer is drugs. Lots and lots of drugs that drove Tony and the rest of the band nuts. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Aw, so many crappy topics lately, and there's finally a chance for a good Ozzy one, and you step on it. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Does Ozzy and Sabbath ever have band reunions or concerts, or do they still have hard feelings. |

Did you miss the big drama over the reunion last year? Wow. They joined up on Ozzfest last year. They also played in 1999 and 2001. 1999 was billed as their "last ever" performance, but it hasn't worked out quite like that. Where there's money to be made, Sharon will make it...

Now this is going to turn into Q&A, isn't it?
They had a lot of names before they were Black Sabbath. I guess the founders are Bill and Tony when they made "The Rest". Changed their name two or three times, added Ozzy, and became Earth. There was already a band called Earth, so they changed to Black Sabbath. Named after a horror movie. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Well black Sabbath was one of the forefathers of heavy metal, and one of the best bands in my opinion. At first I was thinking that sabbath wanted to be for rock n' roll, it was kinda close to what fallen said that ozzy wanted to be the beatles. I actually learn a whole shitload from you fallen, and that's cool XD I also learn stuff like this from my dad, he knows so much. Anyways.
Ozzy is cool, some people at my school think he's crazy though, well, I wouldn't say crazy But he's awsome, and my threads I made in music arn't creppy Oh well I'll think of a good one.... teehehehe.

I had a slight Ozzy phase...5 years ago or so. My dad's been a huge Sabbath fan my whole life, but I was beyond obsessed with his solo career then. Craaaaazy.
Ozzy is crazy. There's some messed up wiring in that head of his, but it's what makes him so great. All the meds and reality television and becoming a hollywood icon...bleh. I'm glad he's still touring, since that's what he loves and he should keep doing it as long as he wants to, even if he's not in his prime anymore, but his image has been destroyed for this generation.

But to most people 20 and younger, they don't see him the same way. He's cool because he has Ozzfest, which continually takes out the current mainstream rock/metal heavyweights and is one of the better festivals for it. The television show was funny, kids liked it. Most older fans of his were hitting their head against a wall.
He's cool to younger kids, but not in the same way. People who like his whole career see him as the heavy metal madman and respect him for that. Those who only got into him recently think he's cool for shuffling around saying he's the prince of fuckin' darkness. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C.
