Hey, neat! Joined, because I really love taking screencaps. Especially useful for making avatars, too.

Oh, if we upload a screencap, do you prefer raw, or can we upload even if there's a subtitle on it?

EDIT: Oh yeah. It's possible to to take a screencap on Windows Media Player, but you have to adjust a few things first: Under Tools, scroll down to "Options" then click on the "Performance" tab. Change "video acceleration" to "none" and then you should be able to take pictures using the "print screen" button on the keyboard (and then pasting into an appropriate image editting program like MSPaint).

That varies depending on your version of WMP, some versions call it "overlays".

I felt like uploading a few screencaps the other day (was doing cosplay research and figured I'd share, haha), and while over at the site, I figured I'd check out the forum. But all I got was an error message. Is the anime-vidcaps forum gone?

I was wondering how you make screencaps of movies? I have the Naruto movie for the PC, but I don't know how to make screencaps in good quality. And how about making screencaps from FMVs from video games? Once I figure out how, I'll add it to the site! Smile

It's already been discussed; FMVs from video games are not allowed, even if they have a distinct anime style.

Also, look around on the site. There's a whole page dedicated to how to take screencaps on various programs.
