Why does everyone hate country music
you can like more than one type of music
I listen to Slipknot and still like the song Making Memories Of Us(Keith Urban)
So..why |

I don't like country because the songs/style annoy me.
I don't respect most country because it's a corporate, hyper-patriotic mockery of what the country genre used to be. Blind patriotism with a recycled theme and generic music. Dull. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

The only thing I hate is that they pose country girls as sluts
With those skimpy outfits
And that some is turning into rock |

That's part of the mass commercializing of it. Country as a whole never sells to the masses until a couple artists were attractive and managed to break through to the regular pop music channels. Now there's been a massive shift to turn all major country acts into shallow, country/pop rock hybrids that can be marketed to the general public and not just country fans. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Don't all genres do that?
I like certain songs... but sometiems, the twang in their voices, the style... everything... sounds all the same and I get frustrated with it.
EDIT: Not just country girls, all of the girls dancing/singing/portraying the genres _________________ Vampire Love, ooh, la la! |

I don't hate country music... I loathe it! But I did hear this song on Vh1 Country called "one moment more" by Mindy Smith. It was in memory of her mom. The whole thing was just sad. . I like the song "my give a damn's busted", but I HATE HATE HATE the music video. I've seen nothing more pointless... well, almost... I hated when Shania Twain and Faith Hill turned into pop stars. I thot that was just retarded. _________________ <MARQUEE>

I like a ton of different kinds of music, it's just that country is waaay down there on my list of favorites. Most of it sounds alike to me, but some is actually a little catchy. |

I like country music. there are many different kinds of country music. you have country gospel, christain country music,(there is a difference between gospel and christain),bluegrass, rock billy(that is country/pop or rock mixed) then just plane country. country music is supposed to tell a story and most of it a /their life story or what once happened before. |

Sometimes the story is whats annoying, they all pretty much say the same things:
Fell in love he/she left
Fell in love he/she happily ever after
Little kids grow up
Little kids grow up to: leave/love/crime/fame etc.
God
etc etc etc.
Sometimes it just sounds like a broken record. >.> _________________ Vampire Love, ooh, la la! |

Country music isn't very 'popular' which i s for the best, if it was on the radio and music channels as much as some of the other crap I would've willed myself to be deaf...as for the other crap...lets not go there it gets TOO contreversial... |

Outlaw country, and country western. Country doesn't always exactly tell a story, they're just songs just like any other genre.

Actually, if you're in Montana, you'll find the most popular genres are pop/hip hop and country.
Can you believe this? There is a black cowboy and a white hip hop artist. How wonderful, and for that, I really admire Cowboy Troy, especially his song with Big N Rich "I played chicken with the train"!!!
Go ahead, find a bat and swat me upside the head, but I'm a red neck!...who likes rock, too. _________________ <MARQUEE>

HELL YEAH, BROTHER! ....or should I say, HELL YEEHAW!
I played chicken with the TRAIN played chicken with the TRAIN TRAIN, uh huh!
THAT song ROCKS on a southern deep-fried chicken way, mon! And that huge black guy's charisma on stage is INSANE! He looks like he could break a couple of necks in a bar fight, let alone turning them red!
WHITE POWER, DUDE! |

Why hate? It's only an opinion...
My one and only problem with country is that it's losing it's touch. Nowadays, too many preppy skimpy pretty girls are taking over it. Country needs more Gretchen Wilsons! _________________ <MARQUEE>
