I'd rather just wait for the prices to go down, first. It's probably going to be like... $50. I'm not paying that much for a bloody book. =/

I agree with Fayore. I'm just going to wait for the paperback version; it's the same thing I did with the fifth book. Although, if someone is willing to pay for the hardcover sixth book for me; I definitely wouldn't refuse the offer. Smile

I've heard more store ads for the Half-Baked Plot (err, Half-Blood Prince Laughing ) in the past week than I'd want to hear in twelve months. Doesn't help that it's obviously the store I work at... but I seriously wonder, how can they proclaim HBP to be July's Book of the Month when it doesn't actually arrive until halfway through said month?

That's crazy.

Mm, favouritism.

I haven't actually seen much mention of the book except for my f-list on LiveJournal. =/ I actually don't know much about it except forr the given things. Like the faact that the price for that thing'll be so high... Nothing like trying to wring as much money out of a fandom as you can...

And wow, you work at a bookstore? That's the ideal job for me (at least, considering how I'm still in high school o_O) - I'd love to be surrounded by that many books! XD
And wow, you work at a bookstore?
No, I work at a general retail store ... they have two different HBP ads, and at least one of them chimes in every hour. They're ads like:

QUOTE ((male voice))
The Book of the Month for July will be Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the new novel by J.K. Rowling.  Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince picks up the story of Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts, in the middle of a battle between Good and Evil.  The author has already commented that the Half-Blood Prince is neither Harry nor Voldemort.  Get your answers when you pick up your copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the Book of the Month, on sale beginning July 16th.
QUOTE ((female voice))
This summer, there's one question on every muggle's mind:  Who is the Half-Blood Prince?  That's because Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the new novel by J.K.Rowling, is arriving July 16th.  Back for a sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry embarks on an adventure that's Truly magical....

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, published by Scholastic.
Damn, I have those ads nearly memorized by now....

Oh, crap, Strata, you have to sit through that? o_o; Yeah, you know it's over done when you get the ad memorized... And especially when you have two!

General retail store... Well, I'd settle for that, too. o_o; *doesn't have a job*

I guess I'll read the book when I get back to the States in the fall. My little sister will have bought it and read it seven times by then... I long for the good old days when my sister got a book for Christmas called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and I thought the cover looked dorky, but ended up picking it up and laughing my way through the first several chapters. Back when nobody knew who Harry Potter was, and it wasn't a fad... :(

Heh, if you want to be surrounded by books but don't want to have to be bothered by customers, you could try to find a job as a librarian. I love handling old books, although they make my hands filthy...

Lol, I like how they kept repeating the title.

Y'all are paying how much for these books? WTF? Where are you buying them?? At all the bookstores around here (and there are a lot) you can get the hardcover for 40% off (for a total of a little over $17).
