No "sometimes" option? Oh well. Charaters should sometimes die because it's only natural. In the story I'm creating one charater has died and many more are yet to come to death. |

There probably is somewhere that it would fit for the main character to die in the middle of the series, but then there has to be something following that. Like in YuYu Hakusho, Yusuke dies at least three times (if my memory serves me right) but then again that was all about spirits and supernatural thing anyways... But yes, sometimes it might actually be better for the Manga if the Main Char. ends up kicking the bucket. Just for some effect on the readers, if nothing else. |

Ok so I voted if it is sad..The only problem I see with main characters dying is that a new character would easily take their place. They'd weep over the main character's death then get revenge. However if everyone dies that makes everyone happy because no one has to suffer ^_^ Although that also sucks if it was a good anime...
In Naruto when the third Hokage died I cried...He may have been a scary old man to me but he was cool in ways... |

I voted the top choice by accident. ><
Anyways, i think that main characters should die sometimes, but only if it benefits the storyline. Or if it would make a decent ending to the series. |

They should die/be deleted. Megaman got deleted and that was the saddect episode ever... Especally since he hated Protoman. So tell me again why he had to do the "right" thing and save the jerk? |

There should be an anime where characters die in a realistic fashion, like when they should die in real life, instead of when its story appropriate.
THAT, would be quite interesting. _________________

Even though it's sad sometimes, I think that main charas should die.
It makes the anime (or manga or game... whatever) a little more innovative and interesting. I hate the "good guys live and bad guys die" model.
And rest assured: if a main chara dies, u'll never forget the scene and ur first impressions during this scene!

I love it when the hero dies after he or she completes the task given to them... it's kinda like that's all they were meant to do. I love that.
Anyone get what I'm saying? |

In some serie they should die but not in all of them or it'll get boring. Also they shouldn't always stay alive all the long or else it's boring too so in some sireis yes and some no. Like Chaos said, Yusuke form Yu yu Hakusho dies more then once but always manages to come back to life aso the serie continues. ( Well he dies for the forist time during the first episode ) but it should end some. the character dies and the serie ends. That would make a change from all thses guys who always manage to makea spectacular come back even after his heart was ripped out. _________________ A life with love will have some thorns but a life without love will have no rose |

In some shows they over-do it
Like Yusuke in YYH and Goku in DBZ(ESPECIALLY that show...he dies every season)
But some of them, if the main character dies....well...you just lost the reason for airing it anyways |

Well you also have to consider the story line and what the genre of the story is. If it's like, say, Occult and supernatural, than maybe the Hero can come back. If it's more of a realistic or fighting type, then there is no reason for them to dig up through 6 feet of soil to say hi again. But if the manga is like a soap opera, then it's basically anyone's guess.
The main char isn't always the hero. He can be the bad guy, too. And usually the bad guy dies or surrenders (usually the latter unless it's aimed at younger people). |

I voted the 5th one, because personally, I like watching the main character die, with all his/her friends/family crying/grieving, etc.
It makes me feel sad. _________________ It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.
How long did it take my brother to defeat those characters using Yoshi? Two minutes.
I like to obsess over stuff. Here are all the things I'm obsessing over:
Song: Seize the Day by Default
Anime: D.Gray Man
Anime character(s): Kanda
Video Game: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Video Game character: Wolf O-Donnell from Star Fox Assault
OC: Ray Eclrida, copyright of me (duh!)
