Someone must 've read them - maybe not all of them, but... ah well, you know.
I really love those books - Anne Rice's style is so poetic (and sometimes a little hard for me to understand since English isn't my native speach ^^) but everytime when I read them, I'm surprised by the sheer beauty and elegance of her writing. I like to write myself and, well, she inspires me. ^_^

I've read from Interview up to Armand and I have to say that each book, while wonderful and interesting in its own way tends to show a downward trend in Anne's plotline in the Chronicles.
What I mean is that as the series continued it began to lose its certain errie dark charm that it carried in Interview and Lestat. The focus seemed to go toward religion rather than the actual characters and vampires. Lestat was a already a hard character to understand but ever since Memnoch (actually, its debatable whether or not this started in Body Theif) Lestat just doesn't have the same devilish qualities that readers have grown to love (or love to hate.) He seemed to flip flop personalities and I just didn't like the idea of one of my favorite characters to change so dramactically.
But I have to say that Rice made up for that with other characters that stayed true to their persona we we fell in love with durring the beginning. Armand would definetly be one of those characters. While reading Memnoch I was very dissapointed and confused at his sudden (almost random) finding of religion. And it didn't make sense until I read The Vampire Armand. After I read that book it became clear to me how Armand thought and what he went through to get where he was in Memnoch and it just made a little more sense. But with a confusing book like Memnoch I think that a seperate book for each character would be neccisary in order to truley understand it.
All in all, I do love the series. Lestat and Armand are my favorite book characters that I haven't liked so much since I read Harry Potter. All the books are dark and enchanting in a gloomy sad way that made me fall in love with not just the characters but also with the story that went along with them. Wonderful books, those are. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

I'm reading Guilty Pleasures right now, wich is being compared to Stephen King and Anne Rice. Bad idea, the only thing in what it looks like Anne Rice is that it has vampires. The style is TOTALLY different. (and even though I don't know Stephen King, I don't thinks it's that style either ^^)
Apart from that, Guilty Pleasures is a pleasant read, but far less convincing than the Vampire Chronicles.
I was a little freaked out at Armands sudden religious commitment too, but I guess I'll understand when I'll have TVA finished. Yay |

I read them
They were all right.
I like the interview the best, simply because it gave me chills. The others were tamer. Although the Queen of the damned had a very good plot.

Queen of the Damned was pretty good. It introduced some very likeable characters and I thought it had the best ending out of all the VC books. Its a shame Anne Rice didn't go deeper into the story of Armand and Daniel though. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Oooh, Vampire Chronicles.
I liked the books before Memnoch, but after Memnoch and Body Theif they kinda...went downhill for me. I didn't like where she was going with Lestat, really.
I saw the Interview movie for class last fall, and I loved it. Current issues aside, Cruise was sexy as Lestat.
And on a completely unrelated topic....Sixx, I adore you icon. *drools* |

Cruise did a great job as Lestat which is, to say the least, surprising. Brad Pitt was okay as Louis. He could have been better. Plus he didn't seem to fit Louis's physical description that well. His hair was brunette in the movie. Its supposed to be black. : /
And don't even get me started on Antonio Bandares portraying Armand. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

I read Interview with the Vampire and got quarter way through The Vampire Lestat. I think I have been at quarter way for about a year now. O.o I must get back to it.
I loved Interview, Claudia is one of my favourite characters, it's a shame she is only in one book as far as I know. |
