I mean but how can u get beter graphics then on the ps2. *Thinks for a sec*..........for some games.

I want a PS3 because X-boxes are frikkin' huge and not to mention butt ugly. Plus From what I saw on the E3 special the PS3's graphics will be awesomer(teehee I made a word) Than the other consoles.

Untrue.

It's a small selection actually - the snes line up is rather dissapointing, and there's been no talk of price yet.

The PS3 is going to be bigger than the 360 & the current Xbox and PS3 didn't show any in-game footage... merely pre-rendered footage as the graphics chip wasn't finished yet.

Note: I know I double posted, but I don't care so don't point it out.

While I enjoy the PS2 a lot, there are already 2 consoles which deliver greater graphics & a PC which delivers [b]far[/b] superior graphics.

Kirsty: yes Final Fantasy XII will be out for the playstation 2.

I hope it's not true as I will probably be opting for the PS3 (despite the controller) but... it gives you something to think about. At the end of the day, we don't know and will have to wait and find out.

According to the specs published, the PS3 will have 7 core cpu's (compared to the 360's set of three), giving it nearly twice the computing power as the 360.

Yep, so the specs say, but have a look at that article... it seems they're saying it doesn't measure up. And with Sony's history of criminal over-hype, we will not know unil released date what exactly it is capable of, as we've seen nothing to indicate as of yet.

I've seen a trailer for FF7 for da PS3 and I waz like: GAH!!! MUST HAVE!!!!!
Playstation will alwayz be number one no matter how good nintendo's stuff will get!!

Wow... this thread really hurt to read. There was about 2 or 3 people here with any sense.

Nintendo is the grand daddy of the consoles. But Nintendo doesn't know how to handle competition. And I do believe they may fail with the revolution, completely.

Anyway, on to the debate between the Xbox 360, and the PS3. Well Microsoft isn't stupid, their system performs. I've read indepth comparisions between the 360 and the PS3. And in the end, gamers probly won't be able to tell the difference between the capabilities, when both consoles are out. And no you can't go by E3, cause everything sony showed was not run on their hardware... or even their hardware specs.

Anyway long story short, I'm getting the 360. Cause the PS3 will have sequels upon sequels...upon sequels, of PS2 games. Where as Microsoft on the other will still have some fresh blood. Not to mention their awesome online service. Which sony plans to clone (so I've heard).

The only reason the PS3 will do so well is cause casual gamers love Sony. Personally I hate sony. But at least I don't make bogus statements about it.

I'm going with the Nintendo Revolution. Free online, downloadable NES/SNES/N64 games, supposedly innovative controller and more! There's just too much to resist! ^_^

The thing about the PS3, though, is that Ken Kutaragi from Sony stated "normal households will not be able to afford one." He also said "you will want to work more hours for a PS3." It's definitely not going to be a cheap system. WTF?

As for the Xbox 360, it looks pretty good, and if I wanted to get a second console, it'd be it. But the Revolution is what I'm going for, and I know I'll be happy with it! :D

Also, girls are becoming a big part of the gaming industry. Sure, there are still more males than females who game, but that number of gaming girls is steadily growing. If anyone tells you "girls don't play video games," don't be afraid to argue. In fact, punch them in the face if they still think girls only like to play with dolls. Razz
