I was sure this topic was made already, but I didn't see it in this forum.
I am thinking about replacing IE with Mozilla Firefox. But when I searched for it, I find that Mozllia and Firefox are two seperate browsers. Which one should I download? Or am I just dumb and didn't search right?
I keep hearing Mozilla is better, and right now i am reading up on why it is. Also, I'm reading up on why Firefox is better aswell
which should I download? _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

They're more or less the same thing (different pictures on the buttons, about the only difference worth noticing). My computer doesn't like Firefox, so I use Mozilla, but it seems most people prefer Firefox. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I read up on them just now. It's seems that Firefox is better. So I'm going to try it for some time and then decide.
I like the idea of tabbed winows, but with IE, a window can freeze, but I can just open another. If I have Mozilla/Firefox, if a window freezes, do all the rest that are tabbed in that window freeze too? That would just turn me off if they all do that at once. _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

Yep, they all freeze. I still use the tabs, though, it's much more convenient. Especially considering the desktop computer is quite slow, and hitting back all the time takes forever, so on a forum or something I usually just open the thread in a new tab and then close it when I'm done reading. But yeah, they all freeze. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Ok, I'm using Firefox. So far... it's faster than IE. Alright, THAT is cool. And now, time to see what this thing can do... _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

Mozilla was the origional program, I think... The guy who made Firefox asked for the source for it and modified it accordingly to make it faster, securer, and better all 'round.. I think. |

I haven't used IE since I got Mozilla FireFox. I'm just enjoying the tabs, so easy to use. I still haven't looked to see what other features I may like. Right away i got a theme, then I forgot about it. I will look further to see what else there is. It's faster, that was my main concern. It hasn't froze on me yet. But then, my new comp hasn't either. But I like it. _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

Firefox is usually faster than IE. This is in part because it doesn't use those freakin' fancy-shmancy error pages (y'know, the ones stored in your Windows/System directory....) for if something happens.
IE is faster than Firefox when loading FAC's category select listbox though.
Firefox also doesn't take Windows down with it if it crashes. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Firefox sucks for me now!
I got it and it was all good the first two days. And then it just stopped coming up when I clicked the icon. What's worst is I didn't download the latest updates for windows, so I can't get into my email account. I chose to be notified of the updates in a week, so I can't download them or get into my email until those damn updates come! And Firefox won't come up!
I got like 4 days, and then I can get in my email account.
Also, I go to the website to download the updates myself, and because I don't have them, the links are broken, and so I can't download them!. _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

I have Mozilla FireFox, (yeah with both names) and IE. I never used Moxilla firefox untill I got a virus and IE wouldn't work, but now my comp is getting fixed and Mozilla FireFox will be gone.
I only had time to discover the tabs and now being on IE I keep trying to open stuff in tabs. XP Yeah I really liked the tabs. |

Yeah, my firefox is working great now, I can have the FAC forums open and the main site too at the same time in the same window now. I totally forgot about IE. _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

Usually, when da fox slows down and takes more than 20 seconds to react, I just close it, lock the internet, and restart the computer. Then it goes lightning fast again. |
