I dunno what it is but after finishing order of the pheonix it just felt alittle rushed (though that is stupid because it was an 8 hundred pager) that it just didnt have that *umph* that you usually get in the series Sad

In a way, I sort of agree, yet at the same time I don't. I still think her writing is fantabulous (lol) and pretty good. But she's missing something that caught some excitement out of me like from the first through fourth books. IMO, the 5th book wasn't as 'thrilling' as the ones before it. Book 1 had the Philosopher's (or Sorcerer's) stone and a battle-ish type thingy with Quirrel/Vold and Harry. Book 2 had the Chamber of Secrets and Tom Riddle. Book 3 had the whole Azkaban escape and stuff (plus some really cool chars). Book 4 had the triwizard tourn. Then... Book 5... although I did like it and it was exciting at parts too, there wasn't as much adventure as I would like. Well, there was adventure, but not the right one. I'm not sure how to explain it all... But I think that Rowling is sort of losing her touch in the adventerous way.
Yeah, Harry is growing up. Yeah, he has to deal with life problems. But... there could have been more...
I don't really think that book 5 was really rushed... but...

I'm just reading book 6 now, so we'll see how it goes.

EDIT: Wonder if any of that made any sense at all....?

It's not rushed, it's just coming to the end of the series. The thing is, now she has all these questions she has to answer before ending it all in the next book. Personally, I think as the series progresses the books become more interesting and exciting. Can't wait 'till book 7. Smile

You read it in a day?

I thought it was her best.. it has everything. Humour, sex (almost Razz ), tragedy, joy, adventure, peril etc.. And the book's progressed so far that we care for the characters which always helps in setting the mood..

Spoiler--

I love it but I can't help feeling that I don't want him to leave Hogwarts and his friends.. That bit sucks and upset me.. Dumbledore shouldn't have died Sad But something tells me he's still alive OR he's just done it to save Draco's and Snape's neck; being the self-sacraficing Gryffindor that he is

I am currently banging my head on the computer desk. We honestly need spoiler tags or something. 'Cause just saying 'spoiler' and continuing to type out in normal text doesn't really help much.

DAMMIT! WHY DID I CLICK ON THIS THREAD AGAIN?! stupid me...

... although I guess I did see it coming.... but STILL....

We sorta do, people just need to use them.

[ quote = Spoiler ] [ color=white ] Insert spoiler text here [ /color ] [ /quote ]

Without the spaces, then highlight what's in the quote box to read it.

QUOTE (spoiler)
Insert spoiler text here
I think she did fabulous with the series. She really hasn't been losing her touch, but I think that feeling is just from the way the fight scenes seem to be plotted out. They move quickly because you are just racing to see what comes next and then you miss maybe a paragraph at a time. That will be the way it seems the first time you read any of the HP books. But if you do read it again, take care to try and read at least every sentance if you can. It is much slower then.

This last book depressed me...
