Yep, they should stop anime cut outs. I think vertually everyones gonna say the same lol.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Has to be one of the worst for damn cut outs. Like at the end of Noa, Mokuba throws a flower to say goodbye to him and in the dubbed it was totally cut out, and its not even offensive!

oops,I accidentally voted yes,but really,I AM AGAINST CUTTING OUT THE ORIGINAL VERSION.

what's the point of anime if you're cutting it??Anime is,I believe, not really for children.cartoons are for children. If they think certain animes are too violent or whatever for the children that they want to cut some parts of it,they should just show it at a later time where kids are already in bed.

I haven't seen anime being dubbed like that, and I don't intend to. Smile

I personally think anime should be left in its own language with english subs...because the characters original voice is soo much better than the dubbed.

Sometimes when they cut the episodes we missed the crucial elements of the anime..and that just throw me off Grr!

Marketing scam. Pft. No. They do it because it has to be editted and filtered for the specific audience they're aiming at. Also, to make it more acceptable (and therefore get more ratings), they have to "Americanize" it to some extent, so people will be able to "get into" the anime a little more easily.

Usually, anime directed at a young audience (eg. stuff 4Kids does) is more heavily editted because they don't want to get sued by an Angry Mom who claims that 4Kids' lack of editting caused their kid to become violent or some s**t like that.
actually i know the real reason they mess up anime

it's a marketing scam

if you want to see the uncut version you either have to:

A buy the DVDs

B get a channel the shows anime uncut

or C (which is the easiest and cheapest of all) download them
actually,i kinda think its like that too in a way... Uneasy

If an anime is aimed at kids, they should cut out ONLY scenes that are innapropriate for the age group. Everything should be translated directly, only swear words being replaced by less offensive ones. Every time this heppens, there should be an completely uncut dvd version that includes the original japanese dialouge, openings and endings for all the devoted fans like us to enjoy. ^_^

eh i dont like it when they cut out any parts, unless like adult sences that are being aired on daytime telvision for younger immature kids, however it pissed the crap out of me when they cut gantz in half on the anime network, so many good things taken out its sad.
well if that's how america is going to treat anime

then i'm moving to japan

wait i was already planning to go anyway......

one more reason to go to japan where i can see all my favorite anime without parts being cut out

hopefully there'll be english subtitles.......
Hah! Please don't tell me that's the only reason for your wanting to move to Japan. And no, sorry, you don't get subtitles in Japan. The only things in English are random lyrics in J-pop songs, and the signs in the train stations.

I think that cutting anime is a horrible thing, but then, I'm against dubbing anime in the first place. Uncut DVDs are the way to go, and if you think they're expensive in the States, then thank your lucky stars that you don't have to buy Japanese DVDs - those run between $40-60 (in Japan!), and sometimes you only get two episodes on a disc.

I like fansubs. ._.

Those anime dubbers shouldn't cut out anything! I'm still angry at 4Kids for dubbing Tokyo Mew Mew! They shortened one scene of Kish kissing Ichigo (ep. 3) then in another scene, they cutted out the scene where Kish was about to kiss Ichigo!(ep. 13)

I haven't seen all of the mew mew power episdoes yet, but when I do, and I see that they have cutted out all the romantic, violent scenes, I am going to kill!!

Except.... it's not. Because we just heard about it. Didn't they also do something about the relationship between Sailor Neptune and Sailor Pluto because the two were lesbians in the Japanese version?
