I understand a bit. But if you're really that bored then might I suggest some of the following?
I. Post in other sections. Who knows? You might actually get really into one and maybe have fun.
II. Go to another site for spamming. I'm linking Gray's site in my sig too soon so you can have easy access to it.
III. Go to another site. Sorry if I'm offending anyone but if you find a place boring then shouldn't the logical solution be to just leave? There are some good sites out there that you can go to depending on what you like. In fact, if you are in need of some entertainment but don't know any sites to go to then PM me and I'll send you links to some great sites I've found.
I hate seeing people bored. Pisses me off really. Bored people are boring.
the thing is, I have a thing on my computer that blocks almost everything on here for 21 hours. I only have 3 hours in which it is not blocked, during that time i do have a website i go to that keeps me entertained
but for the rest of the time this is the only place so far that isn't blocked |

What the f**k are you people on? The purpose of this site is not pedo pictures or nudity. It's an art site for kids. Denis is not distributing pornography to children. He isn't going to f**king jail for this.
OF COURSE IT'S HIS PROBLEM. IT'S HIS f**king SITE. So he needs a solution. What was the solution? Removing two sections. Now pornography can't possibly be posted.
FOR NOW they are gone. Has Denis ever said there will NEVER be another spam-like forum? Unmod was soon to be deleted anyway because he was planning on splitting all adult material into a separate site. And for RIGHT NOW, spam is gone.
Denis was never told the details of the problem, as he said. It's most likely the kiddie porn, but there are so many other potential issues.
Suck it up, and wait for everything to be sorted out.
We never implied Denis would go to jail, merely the well being of the forum and preventing further reports or issues. When everything is worked out with the new changes, then we'll see about spam's future. It's not the end of the world. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

No, it's not the end of the world. But I can understand people being upset about their favorite sections being gone. Back in the good ol' days I spent at least an hour a day on those sections. Just let people blow off their steam. They're upset, and you can't blame them. No, the nagging won't bring back the sections, but people need to deal with their anger. |

I'm going to have to agree with slet. How would you like it strata if the RP section was tossed? You probably wouldn't be so f*ckn chipper. The reason these topics have remained open is because people have the right to be upset over this, and deserve to voice their opinions. I think by now everyone is aware of the situation and they know that no amount of bitching is going to bring spam back at the moment. But I sure as hell don't think it's a problem that they talk about it.
And to those of you who didn't like the spam section. Good for you. A ton of other people did like it. In fact many of them came here mainly because of spam and spent a considerable amount of time in there. To have it gone all of a sudden is a piss off, a major piss off. Now you can say "post in other topics" or "go outside" all you want but that really doesn't do much for these people. If they wanted to post in other topics, they would have been doing so while spam was still around. Spam was a place where you could post spammy sh*t all you want and not worry about short posts, spelling, saying something stupid etc.. that is what made it fun. Now all people have are forum areas where spam is not accepted. Now for people who like to spam 24/7, this is not good. It's easy enough to say "oh go find another forum that has spam". But ya know people do get attached to the sites/forums they go to. They like the people, the setup, the main site etc. Why should you make it sound so easy to just go elsewhere? And on that note, you really aren't showing people that they are valued members of the forum when you speak like that. "Go elsewhere"... gee.. thanks.
I'm not bitching about spam being brought back or being gone. What's done, is done. Hopefully it will be brought back in the future, if not well... sh*t happens. But for crying out loud.. stop telling people they are crybabies when a major part of the forum that I hope they care about, is gone. _________________ |

I said that. People seemed really upset at the loss of spam but I guess my advice was really insensitive.
I loved Spam of course. It was the section where like 65% of my posts were in. Now that its gone I have to wait for all my friends to come onto YIM instead of just posting something in spam for them to read later.
I'm going to be hopeful though. I'm sure Spam will come back once Denis gets the details about why he got in trouble. Maybe Unmod can come back too. Its a very long shot, I know but it doesn't hurt to have faith.
But yeah, I'm sorry if I said some things yesterday that were insensitive. I'm in the same boat as you guys. I just forgot is all. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

I don't think there is a point in unmoderated coming back. Once all of this is settled there will most likely be a zero tolerence to adult content. That is pretty much what unmoderated was full of. So creating a new unmoderated section which would be heavily moderated would make it just another general section would it not?
Spam could be brought back eventually as just a place to b.s around. But it would have to be heavily moderated for adult content. Sure we would lose the homoerotic pictures, the poo pictures etc... but I can live with that. It would still be a place where we could call dewroo an idiot for his amy love and create stupid topics about killing eachother in the face? Now when I say spam could be brought back that is just my opinion and doesn't reflect any other fac mod or admin opinions. _________________ |

General Discussion hasn't been this busy since before the day the spam board was added. Even then the spam board was so organized. No one really wanted to clutter up the new section. All the topics were meaningful and everything. _________________ |

That wasn't my intention. Actually, that's what my first spam thread was about. That's where the site got it's name. The only people using the spam board when it first opened were those who were responsible and had real stuff to talk about, so the board was all ways so neat and meaningful. One day I made a post bringing the irony to everyone's attention, and the rest is history. _________________ |

*Sigh*....good times? Yes? No? Possibly?
I always figured that organised spam came from Lexar or someone else who was actually in it. Thats pretty interesting to hear though. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |
