Naming characters is really hard for me, but I like to make stuff up. For fantasy names i like to spell real names backwards. Like one of my characters is named Losiram which is Marisol backwards (like what D.W.E does). Here is a nice site that has names and their meanings and origins. www.thinkbabynames.com It's pretty usefull. I also like naming characters with names that have meanings, like if they are a pirate I try to find a name associated with water, like someone else was saying.

I like to use any means possible when coming up with names. I'll go into dictionaries, encyclopedias, all sorts of things. And sometimes my TV likes to act retarded and messes up the captions, thus the creation of typos. One such named I gathered from a typo was Amera. The original word was America. o_o
Does Schezakemon look like it'd be hard to pronounce? I wouldn't think so (perhaps because I'm the one who created it) but some people come to me and say it is. Oh well. <_<
Blah blah. |

The only thing I ever have trouble naming...is cities or towns. Especially when you're creating an entire planet that is unique in its own. <_< Took me over an hour to name all those cities...naming over 40 cities is not an easy task. Ah well, me, I just use the name Drake, Dricks or such alot. Mostly because I favor that character the most(They're the same person) and because I think he looks cool. So yeah, I'm trying to stretche out and make newer characters.
Me? I just take a bunch of letters and slap 'em together until I have things I like. Such as:
Na'sak
Agi'nak
Lee'nak
Jen'an
and so on. I don't know why, but recently I like putting using ' in names alot now... |
