My favorite is Gouache, (non-transparent watercolor) but I sometimes use markers.

Markers and Gouache, both designer stuff.

...

. . . . I'm guessing most use CG, oh well, see my other topic.

Had a hard time picking, since I usually mix acrylic and watercolor. But I prefer acrylic, so I went with that. Haven't colored anything with prismacolor pencils in awhile, but I love those too. Just been in a painting mood.

water with acrylic???

that's ingenious! Surprised so it doesn't dry fast? most of the times, they just dry on my brush while I'm staring in to the canvas while my brain is playing an episode from the simpsons...

I almost always thin my acrylics, at least a little bit. Of course, I tend to just use the bottles of craft stuff 'cause it's cheaper, and that stuff is always a lot thinner than tubes of artist grade. And if you add enough water, they look just like watercolors anyway (only difference being you can't add water once they're dry and lift them), so that's why I put my vote to them.

But I also use watercolor on some parts, or add acrylic details to watercolor pieces.

You can add a gel medium or water to slow the drying time of acrylics. Water will thin down the color and make it more transparent, a gel medium will affect it less.

I love painting the most, but I don't have enough money to buy the stuff (like a canvas) that can really handle the heavy stuff. :/ Only sketchbooks, and watercolours are the only thing that don't melt the pages into a mushy, dribbly mess. :/

So I usually don't colour anything I sketch.

Have you tried heavy weight illustration board? I'm not sure how much stretched canvas goes for these days (don't use it), but you can cut down a full piece of illu. board to 6 11x14" pieces (plus scrap) for about $5-$8 total. It's stiff with enough tooth to draw on, smooth enough for ink, and sturdy enough for most paint without warping badly. I love it greatly. :)

And there's drawing pads of unstretched, pre-primed canvas, but I got that from my grandma. Might not be any more economical than something else with support.

Oh, that stuff sounds great! Would I be able to find it in a craft store, or will I have to go to an actual art supplies store? (Asking, 'cause there aren't many art stores nearby. Sad)

I'm not sure. It's usually in any place that sells big pieces of paper/board. I get it from an art supply store (Art Media), but some craft stores should half it. You can always call ahead and spare yourself the trip to the store. :)

Places like Dick Blick online also sell a ton of different types for various prices, but I've never ordered through them.

I use crayola colored pencils, so nothing there.
I hate coloring right now. People like my coloring, they hate my drawing, so screw those people.

Colored pencils! Because I fail if I get near anything that looks like paint.

I like using pencil crayons, or acrylic paint, or oil pastels. I absolutely HATE chalk pastels... my mom was supposed to buy me oil... but she bought chalk... now I have a bunch of it to waste... Er... yeah. I also like to use markers every once in a while. But I tend to always have them leak...

Colored pencils all the way. You can get an awesome fire effect if you use the right colors and press hard. Textures are also fun to play with. I try coloring over different surfaces.
