I've technically got two in the works, but I'm definitely finishing one up this week. The other I don't have to worry about until after the summer is over and I can get my hands on a scanner. That one I drew a month ago, but haven't even started coloring yet. o_o;

I got two still not done yet. one of them, I don't even [i]know[/i] who the guy that was requested is and almsot didn't find anything... The other one was requested... erm... many months ago and I still haven't started it yet and finished one the other day that was requested recently.

Well, it's bad if your ego needs soothing. But then, it's good, if you don't like getting bothered by requests all the time.

I usually don't make requests of people unless they say they're willing to take requests and their artwork is good. I'm thrilled when people make requests of me, but I still reserve the right to turn anyone down if I'm not interested. Fortunately, not to many people request from me so it hasn't been a problem.

If you want people to request from you, then I think a friendly attitude and an 'I take requests' tagline in the artist profile are helpful. ^^

Hm, that's funny. I feel like I do requests for people and then we go our seperate ways. Then again, I don't make too many friends through the internet - most of my friends are IRL friends. Of course, there are definite exceptions to that rule. ^^

Why do you think some people get more requests than others? It's understandable if their artwork is amazing, but then, the really good artists are usually too busy to handle everyone's requests. I think it's based more on content - anime fangirls seem to stick together.

I know... I hate when people makes requests with telling what they want. One of my friends once asked me "Could you draw a character for me? A girl plz" And she said nothing more. I asked her what she wanted and she said "Something original." Is [i]that[/i] supposed to help or be an answer of any kind?! They should at least tell, the hair, face, style and sometime pose so we can at least have a slim or good iea from what they want but just "Something original" doesn't help much.. I gotta say I drew something quick and tried to make it look cool... she loved it you don't have idea how much... She even tried to redo it.. When I saw it I though. "omg... I drew lke that before? And I was the one who thought my drawing was ugly... Now I love it a lot..." It looked good but nothing compared to what I got in my gallery..

Goth requests are lame, but goth/punk requests are even worse. I don't know much about either subculture, but I get the feeling that they are quite different. I don't think most kids even realize there's a difference. -_-

Oh well, it's kinda fun to draw pictures for people. Makes me feel loved for a few minutes at least. :P

Speaking of requests though.... I can't recall how many times I considered whoring myself out in the requests forum, and then backed away at the last second after seeing various peoples' standing requests. In the end, it's nice to deal with people one on one through the main FAC site.

I would have voted "none", had there been a (serious) poll option for it.

Reason being that if I promise something, I MAKE SURE to follow through with it later. But in the meantime, it hangs over my head like a chore, and totally ruins my artistic mood....

Yes it also has to do with me knowing you much more. You're a good friend and I like to do requests for people I know and like compared to some hyper fangirl that wants some random chibi character from an anime I hate.
I really hate doing fanart now, I'm starting to really enjoy drawing OCs now. Because your request was of my OC and one of yours I wanted to finish it faster.
I don't know how many stupid little fanart requests I have and most of them I think the member forgot about. What I hate is when someone remembers and nags you until you finish it.
I used to want to do chibis when I was new and I got all excited about it but as every artist gets a reputation and become more popular you get ttacked with requests and you get really caught up in them. That's what caused me to quit. People requested from me so much that I got very very tired of drawing chibis and fanart. [/quote]

At the same time it's fun and boring to have requests. At least you know people love your art and you know what to draw but it also pissing because it gives you pressure.. <_<

Currently I have three requests that need filling. This is actually pretty rare for me to have requests at all :/ I make a point of not excepting them >.> last time I said I was open for them I got like 8 in one day >.> so I stopped accepting them like a half a year ago. I only do them now for personal friends, contest winners and kiribans.

One of the ones I have right now is for a friend, she wnts a catgirl. The other two are RP characters from a Naruto rp I'm currently in (off site). I was kinda voted without my knowlage as official RP artist to draw everyone's character XD. Not that I mind they are all good friend of mine, and they're all cool characters so theyre fun to draw.

But yeah usually people who will randomly ask for a request i ignor. But it kinda gets me mad if they leave one on my profile... cause i have in big caps letters in the begining of my bio that I don't take requests or art trades... >.>
