It's not the fact they're anti-government, it's the fact they happen to be [i]just[/i] as every 15-year-old mtv fan is. And then they don't even have anything worthwhile to say other than the often repeated ideas of "the country's controlled by the media! War sucks! Everyone just believes what they hear on tv!". Add a catchy radio-friendly melody, and voila.

It's not middle age people losing their children and activists who make an effort to change something who drool over American Idiot. It's teenage kids who cling to this idea because 1) it's trendy or 2) they disagree with the war but can't find a better expression than some cliche pop song.

Even [b]if[/b] it wasn't a blatant attempt to get attention and appeal to kids, the song is not that great. Generic with the same things that have been said in 500 other songs.

Well said. I do hope they all die in an accedent like Randy Rhoads or Stevie Ray Vaughan shouldnt have. Those 2 die in accidents well those assholes in Greenday get to live on earth and ruin the name of rock.

Either of those guys alone have more talent then Greenday times 1000000.

Their old stuff was at least decent...

But they've sold out, the music is just to get attention, and it's crap. They're followers are stuck up 13 year olds who think they're sooo cool because they're anti-government and they claim to be "punk"... Pfft... Punk died a long time ago. They got more talent than I can say about some of you. Luckly they tryed and got some where.
Just coz there not as good as the old punk does not mean there suck. Maby you guy's should rater think of this times music rather than in the past. Grr!

I'll chance my opinion if one of you are in a band and making cd's and stuff. And are doing better than them. . . . .

I say whatever cause its like my word and a fight between 3 against 1 is not faire so I got my music you guy's got yours so just leave me a f**k alone.
