I read the first two years ago, when they first came out. Even got two personally signed, first edition copies of the Golden Compass, and we have first editions of the other two. But then one of the signed copies got destroyed by a flood and the other one we can't find, and they're worth a ton now...but in any case, they're great books. I'd recommend them. |

I ::heart:: His Dark Materials. Has to be one of the best triologies ever written. So good, I don't ever want to read them again, 'cuz I know (being the patheticness incarnate) I'll be sad when I finish tehm. T_T

That's really bad. I'd hate to have that happen to any book! *clutches at book shelves* But aiee, that's twice as bad, them being signed...
Has anyone read Lyra's Oxford? It's a bit short but quite good. (That's one of my three signed books. I bet it feels special. oo; |

You know, the funniest thing is, all those years ago when i talked to Pullman, I asked a question about what it's like to finish books, and he said that when he's done he gets terribly depressed, like he's losing a friend. I just find it...amusing that you'd talk about a similar feeling. I know it all too well. |

Read and loved all three. Sure they're not my favorite books of all time but they're pretty close to the top. _________________

I read the first two a long time ago...I couldn't find the last, so I just sort of gave up. I completely forgot about it again until...welllll...a short while ago. I remember I absolutely adored the two that I read and was horribly disapointed when I could not find the last one |
