*cries a little* I've been meaning to go and watch the movie, but I can't figure out if the posters I've seen are for the movie or for something else. *is stupid and illiterate* If they are, then I think the movie's already out, although all the theaters that I've gone by have been showing nothing but Batman Begins. |

You could always get a friend to go with you~ They'd know if it were showing or not, right? Uhm~ I guess I could help a little: The movie's called シャンバラを征く者 (shambala o yukumono/Conqueror of Shambala) If you can find a movie poster spouting that title, it might have the information you need. ^^; (I have a couple of the ads for that movie on my computer; if you need them I'd gladly ysi them to you. ) _________________

Thanks for the info, Fayore. ^_^ Most of my friends are as illiterate as I am, so I'll just... keep my eyes peeled. And maybe actually find time to fit a movie into one of my weekends. |

Well, considering how the DVD forr the movie in Japanese isn't likely to come out till some time in the fall, I doubt it'll get licenced and dubbed by December, especially since they're still finishing up the series. If you're lucky, maybe. But I think it's probably not going to get dubbed till 2006. _________________

Actually, I thought you were gonna ask Kori to by the Japanese version and send it to you Rita. Or was that Mimi that said that. Gah! I'm confused. Anyways, if you do get the DVD I demand that you let me borrow it. |

Well, originally. But since I'm going to Japan over summer break, I'm gonna go see the movie too. Kori has 2 extra tickets. |

I love that episode. I downloaded it just to see Ed's expression again. XD; (I'm such an asshole. )
Good thing we have the entire summer before that storm of posts about Ed'll show up. ^^

Ahhhhh! Usually when an anime ends and I don't like it, I just write it off and move on to the next series. But the ending of FMA actually put me into a weird state of depression for several days. Really weird. I don't think I've ever been that strongly affected by an anime before (although I guess Perfect Blue places a fairly close second... for different reasons).
And then I spent lots of time in a frenzy, looking for any sort of information about the upcoming movie. XD
Maybe I'll finally force myself to go and buy the manga. I've been dying to know how the manga progresses, since I believe it parts ways with the anime after a certain point... |

A lot of anime made me depressed at the end. Kanon, AIR, FMA... I have a huge list of them. ^^;;;
I bought one of the manga. It's one of the earlier ones, so I guess it's mostly the same as the anime (but did you know the nearly the entirety of episode 13, Flame vs. Fullmetal, was based off a two page omake? XDD;;; ). I also got one of those monthly comic things. Well, it looks like one of those, but it's entirely about FMA. :x Came with stickers, so I'm happy. ^^;
Most people believe that Gluttony and Dante killed each other, but who knows? There wasn't any blood or anything, so... Yeah, it really could be anything. _________________

I've read a few books' worth of scanlations, but the scanlators got lazy and stopped. And then the series got licensed. I'm starting to think that I'd rather have the series in Japanese than English - I know the storyline fairly well, and I've always preferred the way that Japanese manga (and books in general) are bound and come with dust jackets, and random pictures on the covers underneath the dust jackets and such. The Japanese stuff is cheaper too. ;~; I think it's kind of funny that I considered buying the FMA manga way back before it was an anime, or before I even knew how to read Japanese, but I still haven't done it. I kept holding out for an English version, but now that it exists (for the first book, at least), I am worried that the translators might not have done it justice (I wouldn't know - haven't flipped through the English version yet, but if they've translated the sound effects, then there's no way I'm buying it).
Haha, I remember that omake. I was really surprised when it ended up getting a full episode in the anime. They did something similar to that with Naruto, turning some random 4-koma into a filler episode.
Ah, I just remembered another depressing anime - .hack//SIGN. Near the end, I couldn't stand to watch any of the episodes all in a row, and I had to break for a few days in between each one. And I almost had a heart attack when I saw the end of the final episode. Hahaha, I'm such a sap. |

FullMetal Alchemist is an instant classic. ^_^ I absolutely adore it with all my heart; the plot is uniqe and interesting, the animation is well done, the dubbed version isn't crappy at all, and they have such hot and kick-ass characters! (Such as Edo).
There's absolutely nothing I would change about it. The best anime I've seen in a LONG time.
Funny and sweet, happy yet heatbreaking. Never has an anime made me laugh or cry like FullMetal Alchemist has. |

It actually took me a while to really get into it. I first discovered it while my sister was watching Episode one, 'To challenge the sun' when FullMetal Alchemist first aired on Adult Swim. I remember being really wierded out by it then, however it was only right when I bought the manga and watch the episodes when A.S. Began to show reruns from Mon-Wed, did it instantly catch my attention. I've been in love with ithe series ever since.
I'm really anxious to find out what happenes in the end with Edward and Al, but I hear its really sad so I don't know what I'm in for... |

Yep, I just saw the movie this weekend. And ohmygoodness, it finally finished off the freakin' series! I was just happy for closure because I was really frustrated by the end of the anime series.
Movie's all about the details - all sorts of characters make appearances throughout the movie (Nazi Hughes XD). Anyway, yeah, it was pretty good. I was unsatisfied with various parts, but others... well. I'm no Winry fan. :lol:
