My friend and I have been debating this for quite awhile but it seems that we always come up with the same person, Vin Diesel, sure some of you may hate him with a burning passion but come on even you have to admit that he doesnt have to try hard to nail a bad-ass role secod would be Toby maguire but he to short and his voice is weak.
Who do you think would nail Master chiefs personna perfectly and to a tea (as the saying goes)
Debate ^_^ |

Well, considering they never show what he looks like under the suit it would probably be pretty easy to say that they would use the same voice actor for Master Chief. I don't think you can get anymore Master Chief than the original. I would love to see a Halo movie, honestly.
My dad said there's a book that's a lot like Halo called Ringworld. I'll probably check it out, who knows. Maybe they have a movie for that already and I can just watch that instead. |

There actually is going to be a Halo movie (some month in 2007 or beyond), according to the Official Xbox Magazine. And well, the magazine's "Master Chiefs I Haven't Met" article has Vin Diesel (top person in list; there's no actual number ranking, but his picture is on the top) and other actors as supposed "dark horses and front-runners". Here's the list:
~ Vin Diesel
~ Unknown Pretty Boy
~ Jason "The Transporter" Statham
~ Bruce Willis
~ Ben Affleck
~ Viggo Mortensen
Personally, I think Vin Diesel would fit the role, but I'm kinda going for Bruce Willis too. I don't know, Bruce might look too old for the role though. |

Jason would do a good job with it I think. I loved the transporter and he's a pretty good actor. I still say all they need is someone in a body suit and good voice overs. |

I hope they dont make it all CGI that would take away the idea completely
other actors possible actors:
The rock (yes you heard right) he just has that certain cockiness and charisma
(but then again I hated scorpion king and wlking tall so scratch him)
You know if bruce willis was younger he would probably get the part because he was phenomanal in Diehard I totally loved his attitude |

You're right, it would suck if it was all CGI. But still. The guy has to be like, 7 foot tall was it? And he's always in a suit during the game. I guess they would show him in the beginning, but throughout the movie it's just going to be a talking suit the whole time. There's no reason for him to take off the suit while he's always in danger while on the deadly Halo filled with things there to kill him. I'm just saying they should probably stick to the original voice actor and just give a stunt boy a hell of a paycheck. |

THAT'S what I SAID! haha I guess I'm just not being clear enough. They SHOULDN'T show a face and a different voice to go with it. It wouldn't fit into the overally plot of the Halo movie at all. |

Gee thats funny if I can recall james earl jones voiced Darth vader but yet he wasnt the actual actor he also kind of sounded different when he had his helmet off and he wasnt james earl jones ok calm down man
Not tryin to start up a fight just debatin kay
7 foot tall was it?
Again not trying to start a fight but if I can recall the movie speed Tom Cruise was no where near as tall as they emphasized in the movie he was quite short but through camera angles and special effects they made him seem about a foot or two more than he was. |

What the hell are you talking about? Stargate's story is in no way similar to Halo on any level.
Anyways, I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Bruce Willis. All the way. _________________

The Covenant using the Forerunner's Halo to dominate the universe
The Gould using the Stargates to dominate the universe
You're right, there's nothing similar about an alien species using a greater alien species technology (incidentally both are rings) for genocidal and domination purposes.
Well shut my mouth, they're absolutely nothing alike. |

Yes, they are both rings. But that is where the similarities end. While Ra used the Stargates as quick transport over an otherwise impassible expanse of space, the Forerunners created the ring worlds as a weapon of last result to battle the flood, a parasitic organism that assimilates all organic life.
When the humans on earth rebelled from Ra's enslavement, the Stargates were discontinued from use, thus insuring his other slaves would not do likewise. The ring worlds, on the other hand, became artifacts of a since gone race when they were utilized by the forerunners to wipe out the flood, and all other life in the process.
Now, with Ra's return and the military team's hapless mistake of bringing with them a nuclear weapon, Ra tried to use the now open second stargate to send the bomb back to earth in an attempt to finish what he had started all those eons ago. The Covenant, on a holy jihad to wipe out the affront to their gods that is human existence, discovered the rings and mistook them for the sacred artifacts that would begin the Great Journey. They intend to use them to complete the prophecy and achieve salvation.
So, in short:
Stargate: teleportation system used by an evil alien overlord charading as a god to enslave man.
Ring worlds: doomsday device built to ensure the destruction of a parasitic life form, mistaken for a holy artifact by a radical religious armada.
As I said, apart from the fact that they are both science fiction, the two stories hold little to no similarity. Not to mention that one is a transportation system measuring 50 feet across and the other is an entirely self sufficient artificial world.
So please do, shut your mouth, because they are absolutely nothing alike.

<3 much love for nerd Will <3 I was going to say something similar, but I don't know enough of the story of Stargate to really say anything about it. I've only seen the orignal movie.....twice I believe...
But yea, I just watched The Transporter the other day and I stand by my thoughts earlier that Jason should play the part of Master Chief.
More importantly, as some new conversation for this topic......
Who will play that sexy sexy sexy cybernetic she-spark we all know and adore? *bone*   |

I don't think a star actor should play the chief. In fact, they don't even have to show his face. Cause I'm not all that eager to see it. I don't think that it's all that important. But if they do have to show his face. Um... It should be a a somewhat buff guy. Um as great as bruce willis is... I thinks he's too old. I think the actor should be in their 30's. Ok I'm over analyzing this. Hopefully they just get a good casting director for it. |
