Well after one missed season, players and owners have reached a deal. In September the preseason should be off to it's start. I always go to a Sept. preseason Oilers vs Canucks game but this year it's going to conflict with my due date. I wouldn't want to go into labor in the middle of an NHL game.
I'm not too sure of the details of the deal at the moment. I think it's going to be kept under wraps until next week. Both sides need to agree first, and voting etc. will take place next week. It's about time they conclude this garbage, and to think they could have had it settled last season. It didn't have to go this far. I'm sure it won't be far off from the last proposal that was turned down.
For those of you who are NHL fans, has this turned you away from the NHL? Hockey is already one of the most unpopular major sports in America, and this obviously hasn't helped. So will you go back to watching NHL, or has it lost you now?
Also the 2005 NHL entry draft is said to be held July 30th in Ottawa, a month late. :)
P.S - Favorite team? Mine would be The Edmonton Oilers. But don't worry, I won't be using my Tommy Salo avatar this season. In case you don't know he was first traded to Colorado last nhl season, then retired soon after. R.I.P you dud. ... retire in peace? _________________ |

Damn Pittsburg got 1st pick... My favourite team would be Montreal Canadiens or the Vancouver Canucks. I'm also and Anti-Maple Leafs guy. |

Well with Montreal sitting at 5, and Vancouver at 10 I think you have little to complain about. Try being an Edmonton fan getting dealt a 25th spot. You really did get lucky though. Your two fav teams at 5 and 10, and your least favorite at 21 :)
I really don't care about Toronto. I very much dislike Vancouver though. Very much. _________________ |

The lockout hasn't turned me away from the NHL, really... I just wanna watch Hockey Night in Canada on Sat nites again... I miss that.. lol.
My fave team... well... It's kind of the Calgary Flames because I grew up with a Flames fanatic brother. So they just kinda grew on me. Other than that, I don't particularly have a fave team... |

that's funny,
I don't like the lockout either, but...
You gotta admit that the lockout was actually good for minor leagues in Canada that gets very little attention normally. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

Yeah, I dont really have anything to complain about, except Vancouver might have some budget trouble. I really hope Naslund stays and they let Bert play. |

F*ck Vancouver saying they have budget trouble. I wish the worst on that team and it's fans.
P.S - Bertuzzi is a bum. Everyone should wear big stop signs on the back of their jersey while playing with him. _________________ |

I lost all my respect and liking for Bertuzzi because he did that, but that doesnt mean I hate him. For the benefit of the Canucks I hope he stays and Naslund stays too. Your Just mad because the Canucks owned Edmonton's chances for the playoffs last season. |

No. I've disliked Vancouver for the past 6 years. And last season, Edmonton f*cked Edmonton.... and Salo slipped even further into duddness. The Canucks had nothing to do with it. _________________ |

Oilers obtain Chris Pronger and Mike Peca. Pronger was in exchange for Eric Brewer, Doug Lynch and Jeff Woywitka. Eric Brewer Mike Peca was in exchange for Mike York. Edmonton also gives up Brad Isbister for a Bruins 4th round pick.

My brother is a big fan. Not sure what team he claims, though. The Black Bears is the only name coming to mind right now, but they're a college team.
