Re: Definitions on Governement Types
A Colonial Corperation can also be a company that oversees a colonial money-making venture under leave of a central government, though not nessessarily a dominating power.
And there are successful Socialist leaders, though a country itself has yet to convert totally to Socialism. It's not always a bad thing. (says the self-confirmed Socialist...)
As a side note: A standing millitary is also an important factor in politics and government, and is an indicator of a nation's stability. A stable country will not have a standing millitary, as there should be neither economic nor physical threat. A standing millitary shows a poor economy, especially in peacetime, in that people are forced to take jobs in the army, navy, or airforce as there are no other jobs available.

I'm really glad someone finally addressed all of those horrible villain/hero clichs. I found this pretty helpful, especially the bit about action scenes. And it IS true; most of the really great stories I've read tend to have that choppy quality to their action scenes.
Still, I might have found this a bit more helpful if it focused on ALL genres of writing, not just the fantasy aspect. But this was a very good tutorial, nonetheless. |

Wow this helps a lot, though I feel my plot and characters were satisfactory enough I know my grammar and writing style could be improved. I praise for providing an in-depth description on writing and techniques to improve it over all. |

Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap. I fall under a few (Aw, hell, over half) of those cliches. Seeing my writing, I damn suck. Practice makes perfect though, and you can bet your ass that I'll be revisiting this many a time. Or maybe I'll just print it out... Ah, well. Thanks Nate, you helped a great deal. _________________ I speak only at the most opportune of moments. |

Same old, same old.
Get's kinda boring, doesn't it? Which is why I try my best to make different stories, differnt plots. Sometimes there are fanfics out there that have the best summary you evrer heard, but the storyline sucks. Or when they write an authors note right in the middle of a story, especially when it's getting to the bets part.
Sickens me, but this is a really good tutoral. ^^ |

I'm sure everyone falls into a few of those no-no's. It's unavoidable. Although over half is kinda pushing it, Justin...
I mean, JK Rowling falls into a lot of those categories, as does Tolkein and that annoying Darren Shan. Not to mention Garth Nix with his Necromancers.
Sometimes, I guess, you have to stick to a few of the cliche's. Like you said; originality isn't always a good thing. _________________ You'll get a PS3 for this game...
