But if all he is known for are those crappy songs like "Just Lose It" and "Ass Like That" then you know, you all aren't going to listen to me. I like his more serious stuff and thats about it.
I've listened to all his sh*t.. quite a bit. He has a few tracks on The Slim Shady LP and Marshal Mathers LP thare are okay (Rock Bottom, Bad Meets Evil etc... But he's a jackass. Every now and then he throws in something "deep".. but that doesn't make up for all the garbage he produces. And I'm not just talking about his singles. I think maybe one track on Encore might have been almost passable. Other than that the entire album is a flop. Considering he introduces rap to a bunch of white kids, he really isn't representing it as it should be. I feel bad for his fans. He treats them like the idiots they are, and they still think he's a god. Encore was a pile of absolute trash, and yet these dumbasses raced out to buy it. The man knew he didn't have to put anything into the album because these brainwashed fools would buy it without a second thought.
Sh*t.. I would sooner listen to Infinite than Encore. Just when ya thought The Eminem Show was bottom of the barrel he releases that trash....

Hey, Carter, i totally agree. There's SOME good rap out there. But its mostly the underground bands. I just hate the kinda rap thats all like 'SCREW MUH BI*CH THEN DUMP HER IN THU LAKE' kinda stuff is just crap. And like i said in my first post, its not ALL bad, but most of sure is! |

Why would you make a big deal about how stupid it is to hate rap just because of no talent or whatnot. If someone hates it, they hate it, who gives a f**k?
Eminem is cool, his serious songs wern't bad, but they wern't good either, well some of them were good, but he swears to f**king much. (I fear as if I'm the one talking. ) In the Eminem show he swears atleast 147 times, about 21 times in one song. Most of them were typical stupid songs but I give him kudos for his good songs.
But it is a little stupid to make a big deal about people hating rap for their typical reasons, but people are getting very annoyed by it, so complain, and bitch along.
Life goes on. _________________ Wyat Fucking Earp! |

 Because hating something for a reason that's not true is super gay?
It's like people who run around going "I hate digital art! It's all crappy and is so much easier than traditional art, and it all looks plastic with bright cartoony colors". Sure, some of it is, but a whole lot of people who like digital art would be pissed at that person for hating it over reasons that aren't true.
The same goes for rap. No one cares who likes or hates it, it's the reasons. "I hate all rap because ____" is stupid when that reason only applies to the mainstream mtv acts. So sure, hating mtv rap because it's all about bitches and hos is one thing, but not the entire genre.
And it DOES take talent. Otherwise everyone would be doing it. Vanilla Ice and Fred Durst are proof it takes talent to do well and those that don't have that talent will just look foolish. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

The more I cool down the more I realize it does. I hate kids (yeah I'm counting myself, it is a fact, but we learn)
It does take talent yeah. But what I've seen so far of it doesn't impress me at all. It will to the rap fans out there. And what I've seen with the rap image in mtv, I don't want to see the rest of it. _________________ Wyat Fucking Earp! |

Well I have to say I like it more than my family and most of friends less then alot of people I know. I know it takes talent (I know i couldn't do it if i tried ). I used say hated it but, i find myself enjoying some songs and tolerating others.
I must say that although i like some beats of songs the lyrics of most rap are shallow. (NOT ALL RAP SONGS, MIND YOU!!!) They're about: The opposite sex, Dancing at parties and things, and sex. Like i said not all is about that but most. If most of the rap songs were about moor deep subjects and had better beats maybe I'd listen to it.
Though, some rappers sing about shallow topics, they're not bad people. Some are though. I've heard so from my friend Peter who, unlike me, keeps up with current events.
Now Country (my favorite genre) is not the most popular but, even if you don't like you have to agree most songs in country have deeper subjects: Family, American Pride, Loving Life, Dedication to soldiers, songs to heal the heart borken, meaningful songs, just LIFE. So, yah, why is rap more popular.

look guys, dont snap at me (if you have), i said , like Ladaya_Solo, that MOST of it is shallow. And i DO admit my title was a bit harsh. i do like a lot of underground rap, but not the sexual kinds. And i DO like eminem. But only his songs like 'Mocking Bird' and such. and to those of you who snapped at me, you should've read my first post. I can see some of you didn't. It said I didnt hate ALL rap. And country is pretty good. ^_^ |

weed is a drug :)
It's not just rap anymore. All music is about sex. It would be cool if that was new, but it isn't. Its been going on for more than 30 years now.

The problem I have with it is the sound.
Inept instrumentalism, with horrible vocals. I don't know how the artist have an income... _________________

It's the same with almost all modern music... The only good band I've heard in the last 5 years is Interpol, and they have no popularity whatsoever _________________

All that prom was last year was rap and people grinding. It was pretty much sex with clothes on. |
