Babysitter?
Just curious, but what does a babysitter do? I haven't seen anyone around who is a babysitter, anyway. My guess is that it's someone who tells people to stop spamming or flaming, but with no actual mod power. Is this a member group planned to be used in the future? Just curious. _________________ |

"The Boss" - admin powers. (cstdenis)
"Forum Admins" - Admin powers. (fallen, kate, carter)
"Moderator" - mod powers over certain subforums. (me)
"Member" - Normal member status.
"Babysitter" - Normal member + ability to view Sandbox. (Not yet uesd)
"Site Helper" - Normal member + ability to view Sandbox, Site Helper sections.
"Inactive Site Helper" - Same privileges as Site Helper. Basically for recordkeeping.
"Certified n00b" - Attachment feature disabled, otherwise normal member status. (Used to counteract abuse of attachments in the past)
"Baby", "Toddler", "Teen" - Member initiation stages. Ability to view Sandbox. Member privileges (sigs, avvies, etc.) and ability to view forum sections increases with each stage.
"Validating" - I dunno. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I'd assume "Validating" is used to describe a member who's registered, but hasn't checked their confirmation email yet. _________________

Thanks Strata! I had forgotten about the sandbox. What's kind of weird, though, is that when I said I had too much work to help do approvals anymore, I was bumped from site helper back down to member. What does an inactive site helper do? _________________ |

Nothing, but usually the ones added to inactive site helpers have either not said they're too busy but have just stopped doing anything or have expressed interested in continuing helping in the near future (ie "I'm too busy right now, but in a month after finals, etc."). _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Why else would you be part of this hole in the wall? _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

I've never seen anyone who's a 'babysitter'. Is that title going to be used eventually? |

most likely not, I mean, with the forum changes, EVERYBODY can access the sandbox, so... _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

so let me get this straight, fallen...you guys aren't exactly taking anymore member group name suggestions? Because if so, then I got a bag full of member group names just overflowing at the hem for ya! I'm sure The Boss might favor sum of these names; he likes things that are on the groovy side of the road....
and baby, I've toked for the both of us^^ _________________ Pie? |

No, we're not making anymore member groups. They're purely for permissions purposes (ability to view forums, delete posts, suspend users, etc.), not status or funny names/clubs. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

.....darn.
The least you could do is humor me; I mean, it wouldn't hurt you to say, "sure Logan, let's see what you came up with and we might consider it^^". EVEN if you don't mean it, put a lil' faith in the boy....ya kno? _________________ Pie? |
What does an inactive site helper do?
the same thing as a site helper, just in my case, much less time to help. I think I get to do my job here once every or everyother month, but what the hell Im not a kid (44) and work my azz off in real life. I still like helping here though when I get the chance. which I could of right now, but instead I wrote this crap!!! ;)
Denis correct me if Im wrong, but I dont think there was such a thing as "inactive site helper" till God wrote me a letter that I was to be pulled off the helpers list, and I wrote back that I would still like to help, but I could only do it limitedly. thats the first time I saw the title of (incompitent/ unenthusiastic site helper, lol)...I could be wrong <_< _________________ 'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. That may have been when the inactive site helpers started, but you were not the only one. That was the time I emailed several site helpers who were inactive about their lack of activity. _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |
