I can't understand why Quebec would want to separate from Canada. I mean, certainly they're one of the bigger provinces, but they still don't have enough natural resources to live on their own. Not only that, but if they did separate, it'd be easy for the rest of Canada to impose a border tax on goods that go through there, so they'd lose even more money.
Insanity, I say. _________________

California is the only good state Kerry has, oh, and New York.
California alone has 55. It's a good thing that us left-wingers will always have that state. ka-ching! _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

I'm not exactly up to date with politics, so someone mind explaining to me what the difference between a Kerry state and a Bush state is? And how you determine which a state is? o.o; _________________

Easy, if you say F*ck you, really really loud in your town and hear less than 3 gunshots, you're in a Kerry State, other than that (death) you're in Bush _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

Erm, sadly, I'm more up-to-date on my Japanese politics than my American politics, but I can give it a shot.
America is not a democracy - it's a republic. Every state has a certain number of electoral votes, and depending on who the majority of people in a state vote for, all of that state's electoral votes go to that candidate. Every member of the Senate and the House of Representatives gets one electoral vote, so every state has at least three electoral votes, and the states with larger populations (like California or Texas) get more than smaller states.
California's a left-wing state, so they always vote for the Democrats. Hence, in the past election, Kerry won the vote in California, and got all 55 of CA's electoral votes. I think there are about 300-ish electoral votes total, so CA carries significant weight for the Dems. Then you've got the Bible Belt that votes Republican and yadda yadda yadda. Anyway, when the election results come in, a state ends up voting either Republican or Democratic (technically, it could be some other third party, but that never happens) - thus, Bush or Kerry states.
Someone can smack me in the head with a politics textbook if I'm completely off here. I'm such a bad social studies student. |

XD Well, that's quite a bit more helpful than anything Brian had, so thanks. :)
...
Although, as soon as you uttered the word "electoral", my mind went to mush. _________________

Whoo, so am I! Yay, I'm not the only Saskatchewan here!
Canadians rule.

I like Australians, they have such cute accents. I even have a character (named Silver, he's into gadgets and his laser-shooting watch) who's Australian. _________________ It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.
How long did it take my brother to defeat those characters using Yoshi? Two minutes.
I like to obsess over stuff. Here are all the things I'm obsessing over:
Song: Seize the Day by Default
Anime: D.Gray Man
Anime character(s): Kanda
Video Game: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Video Game character: Wolf O-Donnell from Star Fox Assault
OC: Ray Eclrida, copyright of me (duh!)
