If you were to create the ultimate band: A band consisiting the most talented muscians to ever grace this earth with their monstrous rock talent and attitude. Who would be in this band?

Remember, its not just about the talent of the guitarist or the skill of the frontman. There needs to be chemistry involved too. Without that chemistry a band is nothing. For example, its probably not the best idea to put Nikki Sixx and Angus young in the same band because they would not get along very well. While both are like the best at what they do, they just wouldn't mix well in a band.

Keep this all in mind and have fun. Smile

Even when I think about this, its just hard to choose. I'd love for Steve Tyler to front the greatest rock band ever but I'm afraid that his voice is so unique and brash, that it would almost clash with any other guitar playing (minus Joe Perry's of course.)

Ozzy would be a good choice for a frontman. So would Vince Neil now that his act is together. But once again, there's the whole "Who would sound best with whom playing" factor. Vince Neil's singing is good but nowhere near Ozzy's skill and stage performance.

So I'm saying Ozzy would be the frontman. His voice can bode well with any band and I believe that his stage presense is not only awe inspiring but he can have a great chemistry with the band as well.

The guitarist is a bit harder. I would say Eddie Van Halen by far though. Slash is good but Eddie is a legend. But it would definetly have to be Eddie from like twenty-five years ago. Eddie now is totally washed up and drugged out of his mind. But you get the old Eddie man...thats some powerful stuff right there.

Bass player is another tough choice. I want to say that Nikki Sixx should be the bass player of this band but keeping the band chemistry in mind, I don't think Eddie Van Halen would appreciate sharing a band with someone who almost cost him not playing in the Monsters of Rock tour (Nikki Sixx ended up biting Eddie's hand and Eddie didn't take it too well.)

So keeping this in mind, I think we'll have to really go with talent over stage performance. This leaves it down to Duff McKagan of Velvet Revolver or Flea of The Red Hot Chili Peppers. This is hard for me to decide personally because I can rarely hear the bass in any band. Instincts tell me that Duff would be more suited for this band that is already focusing on the more classic players of rock. Plus, Duff has shown that he has some amazing bass playing talents. And after being in a band with Axl Rose, I think Duff has the ability to put up with his fair share of extreme personalities.

Drums would probably be Matt Sorum too. I was very impressed with his performance in Velvet Revolver and I'm sure he can do a great job in another all star band.

And with Eddie Van Halen as a guitarist, there is no need for a rythm guitarist. Otherwise, the sound would be too overwhemling. There needs to be balance.

So the ultimate band lineup for me would be this:

Frontman: Ozzy Osbourne
Guitarist: Eddie Van Halen
Bass: Duff McKagan
Drums: Matt Sorum

Razz I am just gonna skip the whole chemistry bit, Sixxx, if I can. ;)

Frontman: Steven Tyler
Lead: Slash
Rythm: John Frusciante
Bass: Flea

all i can think of off the spur! lol they would sound funny together, but basically this is most of my faves all crammed together.

Steven Tyler would have to be the frontman for ANY band, I think, he can do alot with the vocals. Slash is like my #2 guitarist of all time. I also think Kirk Hammet and Jimmy Page would make awesome guitarists in a legendary band. I wonder what the're band name will be...

Skipping chemistry makes funny pairings. Cool I want Axl and Vince to share vocal duties.

Can I bring Randy Rhoads back from the dead to be in my band?

Frontman: Robert Plant. Young Plant, if I can. 'Cause he'd be prettier.

Lead guitar: Randy Rhoads. I think Randy is close enough to Page in technical ability that it would mesh really well with Plant. His classical training shines through and would have some amazing riffs for Plant's voice to add to.

Rhythm guitar (which apparently no one can spell Razz ): Izzy Stradlin'. He's a good low key, but technically competent player to highlight the very...stand out playing of Randy and Plant.

Bass: I want to say Nikki, but he said recently he wasn't a fan of Plant. But then again, how many times has he changed his mind about most every band under the sun? So since he doesn't have anything personal against him, I think he'd do well with Plant, especially given the publicity and "classic rock" status, vs. a novelty 80s act. Plus he'd add a good edge to Randy's highly technical playing.

Drums: Randy Castillo. A nice compliment to Randy.

It'd really turn out a mess (as would all of these people have put) 'cause issues like songwriting, dominant personalities, and genres can't be predicted, but...it'd still be pretty cool. Robert Plant, Nikki Sixx, and Randy Rhoads... Surprised

You realize that is an impossibility right? Vince would end up calling Axl telling him where and when the rehersals and gigs are but Axl would never show up. Laughing Plus the offer to kick Axl's ass is still open according to Vince.
Steven Tyler would have to be the frontman for ANY band, I think, he can do alot with the vocals
I would be curious to see how Steve Tyler's vocals and Slash's guitar playing would sound in their version of Walk This Way. Slash would totally add his own spin on it and Steve would do what he does best.

Good choice for frontman. He's my second choice no doubt. Would've been first but I just think Eddie's guitar playing and Steve's singing are so powerful and unique that it would just be overwhemling and too much.

Bringing Randy back from the dead is also impossible. Long as I'm giving someone life, I can drug Axl and Vinnie into being forced to perform together. And then have a fun fight afterwards. Cool
