It's my favorite cartoon ever. Smile

Old letter written to Nickelodeon:

October 8, 2002

To Whom It May Concern:

Almost nine months ago it came to my attention that the show Invader Zim had been cancelled. Being an enthusiastic fan and avid viewer of this show I am confused to why it was taken off the air. I remember when Zims commercials had just come out to promote the show. Not being a fan of aliens, I expected Invader Zim to be another cheesy childrens cartoon, much like Butt Ugly Martians turned out to be. However, the creativity of the commercials (when they had cut into other ads) had encouraged me to give the show a chance. After seeing only the first few minutes of Parent Teacher Night I had fallen in love with it instantly. For the entire following month I had begged my younger sister to tell me what happened in the first episode that she had been fortunate enough to see the previous week. Invader Zim had become my favorite show on all of television, even after I had prematurely opposed it. This shows the true influence Zim had upon me, surely as well as many others.
What about the show had captured me? The artwork, the color, the music, the dramatic characterizations, but mostly the fact that it was funny was what had grabbed me so. Zim wasnt afraid to be twisted, insane, or show the unusual type of humor that is not normally seen but is appreciated by the many people who are sick of watching the poor excuses of entertainment that are for some reason still airing (such as Rugrats). Ever since the beginning of Invader Zim I have spent most of my free time drawing the characters, surfing the web for Zim fan sites, working on my own fan site, earning money to buy all those cute Zim shirts, plushies, key chains, etc., and even sewing up my own stuffed Gaz. Not only that but I had also bought most of Jhonen Vasquezs comic books to read on Fridays at nine-thirty as a substitute for when Zim is a no-show.
What do you hope to accomplish by dumping Invader Zim? With all of the viewers who are obsessively into the show I would think the cancellation a foolish thing to do. Besides, what else are we to watch? All that ever seems to be on in the evening are depressing news stories, annoying teen sitcoms, reruns of old shows (not that I dont love I Love Lucy or The Twilight Zone), and idiotic cartoons that are degrading of most of Zim fans intelligence (again, Rugrats). Invader Zim is the only cartoon that I have ever found to grab my curiosity and full respect like no other, and if it doesnt continue to air I have no reason to watch Nickelodeon anymore. I would mean the world to me (hehe... get it? world? hehe...) if this show were to return. If not, the least Nickelodeon could do would be to create an Invader Zim Nick Flick to answer any questions the fans might have before its all over. Oh yes, and it would also be nice if every single episode could be sold on video and DVD!

One of Invader Zims many adoring fans,
Amy H.

Thats awsome. I'm a canadian Fan, and i just learned about it in april-may of this year.
But, i have seen all forty animated episodes of ZIM, read ALL of the scripts at www.gir.n3.net and listened to the audio for unreleased eps. pretty worthy for a canadian fan of 4 months, eh? ^_^ I discovered ZIM because my big bro *now 21, since August 1st* had downloaded the first episode, and i instantly fell in love with its quirky yet dark humor and art as unique as JTHM. IT-IS-GREAT. Laughing Laughing

INVADER ZIM ROCKS!!! I have the DVDs and a Tallest Red thingy. The Tallest were my favorite characters. Why? Because I'm strange. I don't care that they were jerks, I mean, they liked doughnuts! Oo' Their uniforms in 'The Nightmare Begins' episode sucked, though. My favorite episodes were:

Zim Eats Waffles (They gots peanuts and soap in 'em!)
Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars (You! Save the doughnuts!)
The Nightmare Begins part 1 (It's advaaanced...)

In the original pilot, Red and Purple didn't exist! The shadows looming over Zim in the beggining had PINK eyes! Oo' I notice strang things, don't I..?

Invader Glytch, signing off, my Tallest!

Frycook Kid: Look, Mama!! He Gonna 'SPLODE!! ~Frycook What Came From All That Space~

GIR:I'm Being Mashed Potatoes!! ~Backseat Drivers From Beyond The Stars~

Zim: You Cant Take My Ship Its Mine!! ~Plauge Of Babies~

I Think I Watch That show a liiitttlle too much for a canadian fan of 5 months.... Laughing

i loved invader zim! i remember i was so mad when i found out it was canceled, i loved gir he was so funny and zim was always paranoid, why couldn't they show zim in another channel so it wouldn't be canceled and it could have new episodes? not counting that one channel that shows all the old nick shows, that doesn't count

Ahh the good old days, when green aliens in wigs frolicked in feilds of daisies and psyco robot dogs were permitted to run free, terorizing any sane thing in it's path.... good times.

I miss Zim... he was my favorite cartoon. It's going on what, three years since he's been gone? Miff on nick. (Yes, I do know why he was cancelled, so you don't have to tell me.)

My favorite eppisodes were:
Battle of the Planets
Game Slave 3... or whatever it was...
Ultra Pipi (sp?)
A Room With a Moose
The Most Horrible Christmas Ever (only saw half though)
Hobo 13 <--- that's the #1 one. Only saw it once though. The thing I remember most though is
Zim: Scoodge?! I thought the Tallest killed you?!
Scoodge: Yeah, but I'm okay now.

Zim was a wonderfuly horrible program... right down my alley of humor. I miss that idiot a little to much though. Wink
