Who's looking forward to new games this year? Here's going to be a thread dedicated to juicy speculation and hearsay about the games which we don't already know everything about yet.

If there's just one rule about this thread, it's this: News [i]only[/i] qualifies as a rumor or speculation when it has NOT been officially confirmed (or denied) by the source. That's what makes them rumors in the first place, after all!

For example, news like this doesn't qualify as proper rumor material:
- Link being a "were"wolf in Nintendo's upcoming Twilight Princess game
- A PoTC (Pirates of the Carribean) world in Kingdom Hearts 2

So put aside all the official news, interviews, and teasers - this is the place to talk about stuff that nobody knows if it's true or not.

Stuff like this:

- Remember LEGO Star Wars? They say there might be a sequel, focusing on the original Star Wars trilogy.

- Looking forward to the Sly 3 game? When reading through a few previews of it, I'm pretty sure I saw a reference to 3D glasses (like what they used for the Spy Kids 3D movie). Red-and-blue 3D in a videogame? I'd be so there.

- Would Square really put the time and effort into a full CG FF7 movie, just for the sake of a PS3 demo? Or can we look forward to a complete remake of Final Fantasy 7 on next-gen consoles?

It is said that halo 3 will come out the same day PS3 comes out so while all you sony bisnitches celebrate the PS us microsoft fans will playing which will sell out again so mwahahahahaha > Smile

Youichi Wada very quickly dismissed the notion - he stated that it was [i]not[/i] a teaser and did [i]not[/i] hint towards a remake, but he did say that Final Fantasy games would be making their way to the PS3 so... yes, I'd say so.

FFVII is much too popular and many MANY people believe it should be remade with better graphics and probably voice overs for the PS3. My friend, an idiot, says he refuses to play the game unless it is remade. He really depends on good graphics way too much.
It's requested too much for them to NOT remake FFVII for PS3... Rolling eyes

That was just a PS2 Tech demo..:\

If they did remake it, I wouldnt want anything but a direct port.. Smile

If a game is already comming out, it's not RUMORED to come out, now is it? This isn't news, it's unproven rumors. Rolling eyes

We don't care if you're reserving PS3 and Xbox360. That has nothing to do with gaming rumors. Go stay in Random, you! Grr!

Anyway, do you guys think they'll make a new Super Smash Bros. for the Revolution? That has to be the highest selling game for GC. If they do I'll probably get the Revolution. I've lost a lot of faith in Nintendo in that sense.

Is it true that Bungie is going to release Halo 3 on the day PS3 comes out? That would be a pretty low blow to Sony if they did actually do that. Laughing

And finally, is Final Fantasy XII really going to be the last Final Fantasy of the series? That would just be insane. I haven't heard that be finalized as their last. That just might actually suck if they stopped. Sad

Meh, I always have Star Ocean 3 to finish up anyway.... Rolling eyes

There's a rumour that the Age of Empire 3 team and the Civilization 4 team is locked in a deadly battle of discredit-ment because they are the games of same genre and they're both coming out before Christmas.

It is also said that the Age of Empire 3 team made predictions that CIV 4 will be a blooper in pretty every CIV forum imaginable, and the CIV team is trying their best they can to counterattack.

Red-and-blue 3D effects have been confirmed for Sly Cooper 3 (an interview in Play magazine, current/September issue). Technically not a rumor anymore... but even more reason to look forward to it.

yeah i read in the official xbox magazine that that's going to happen.. just to give sony that extra little assraping... + i read something about the x-box 360 slashing their prices in half when ps3 comes... not shure if that's true though

Ok, Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion. I am a die-hard Elder Scrolls fan and, even though we all KNOW this game is coming out, not a lot is KNOWN about it. Yet.

Even though it looks to be kickass, a few things are scarring me. First off: The only playable race I have seen thus far is humans. In all the other installments you had a wide range of characters. Let's take the most recent one, Morrowind, for example. In this game, you could be three types of elves (high elf, dark elf, wood elf) four types of humans (bretons, imperials, nords, redguards) as well as Orc, khajitt (cat people) and argonian (lizard people). That is ten different playable races to choose from. All I have seen in the Oblivian screen shots are humans, and they look to be either Breton or Imperial. That's it. I'm hoping what I am looking at are early beta tests and nothing more, because being limited to human only would suck.

Secondly, it is rumored that the scope of the game will be smaller. This will probably still be huge compared to other games, but Elder Scrolls is defined by its massive landscapes that would take litterally years to fully explore. I just don't want to feel confined to too small an area.

Any thoughts?

The latest videogame rumor to pop up on the 'Net is a doozy:

What if Nintendo launches the Revolution at a USD price point of [b]$99.99?[/b] If it launched at 1/3 to 1/4 the price of a PS3 or 360... what would that mean for the industry? What would it mean for gamers?

Especially since Nintendo has never sold its hardware at a loss.

There are also persisting rumors of a Lion King world to be in Kingdom Hearts II. Kingdom Hearts Ultimania is said to have scans of a Lion King world and how Sora, Donald, and Goofy would look in it (Sora would have to be a lion, for sure). However, I have yet to see this confirmed.
