Well it looks like Tommy has been quite busy this month. He has a new reality show, a new CD and even a new music video out thats slowly climbing up VH1's Top Twenty Countdown. He's made a guest appearance on every daytime TV show and countdown show imaginable.
But is all this attention like really doing anything for his career? Does his music suck any less than it has before? And has he totally sold out with this new reality show?
Give your thoughts on the man who is trying to still seperate himself from Motley Crue.

Haha, uhhh...
I don't wanna be mean to Tommy. But he brought it on himself. Originally I was gonna make a thread about Pamela's roast but forgot about it. He was lookin' good and had some funny jokes (and Andy Dick pretending to blow him was...unique).
The plugging of his single on there was interesting, though. Like "I love you, baby, now to show that I'm gonna promote my new album". I thought the song was excessively emo. Only like happy emo. From rap to happy emo. I guess that's minorly better. The song isn't terrible, but it's not all that interesting either. To his credit, he has always put out songs about stuff that are true to him. Brandon (crappy as it is), Get Naked, and now this.
And he does look fabulous for his age. 99% of his peers would kill for all the girls he still gets. The video's rather boring, but I'll watch a wet Tommy at least a few times without getting tired of it. He's such a great rock drummer, I just wish he could be a great rock frontman/songwriter too. Can't be good at everything, I guess.
The talk show circuit....meh, standard, I can't fault him for that. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

He made a pretty decent spot on the Hottest Forty over Forty Countdown. He definetly is looking better than ever. Just wish he had fronting and writing talents to match. :(
Its not like a horrible song. Just very trendy with all the other happy emo bands. I'll listen to it but I'm not like going to spend any money buying the album.
His show is good for a laugh. My brother keeps saying its very rehearsed and it probably is. But I guess if its keeping Tommy from fading out then its all right by me. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

I've only seen one episode of his show, where he was just starting with the drumming and couldn't get any of the routine. And was getting ready for his hot tutor when they sent the ugly girl. It does seem very scripted, but I remember when they were filming last year-ish, and a person from the Sludge board had a son who was going to that college and was saying how it's ridiculous 'cause they made a big deal about keeping everything secret, but if you have Tommy Lee walking around a college campus with a video crew...how long is that going to stay off the internet?
Meh. Haven't watched it again. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I hate to admit it but the show is kind of boring. I want to watch it because Tommy Lee is in it but really, its like not exciting.
On the bright side, there was an interview with him on Sunday and he said him and Nikki are working on a new Motley Crue album
Lets hope that turns out well. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Or becomes another Chinese Democracy.
You know, the "he and Nikki" thing almost terrifies me. Between Tommy's happy emo and Nikki's "what's the newest trend that hasn't quite hit its peak yet that I can get one album out of"....it could either be fabulous or horrible. Another "this is what all you kiddies are trying to do and failing at", like the two singles were and some of the newer songs like "Afraid" and "Enslaved", or it'll go up in flames as an entire album of crap.
Let's hope for the former. Nikki hasn't completely crashed and burned yet, and I really liked Brides of Destruction, so maybe he'll take it a bit more in that direction that he was doing right before The Crue reunion. It's really all on Nikki, and please please please don't let Tommy write any songs on it again. :(
Yeah, the show sucks. It's only good for watching Tommy, which even that isn't that interesting 'cause there's 25 years of footage of the same stuff, just without the football field and classroom. Well there are two other members in the band who should have a say in this too. I'm sure Vince and Mick will have enough common sense to like not allow Tommy to write any songs. Or better yet, they'll let Tommy write like one song so Tommy doesn't bitch Vince out again and open up old wounds.

Its really a damn shame because you know after this show he's like going to drop off the face of the earth until the Crue album comes out and even then he'll have to share the spotlight with Nikki which is how it should be. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

Not even one song. No one needs another "Brandon". It'll end up exactly like Poison's "Hollyweird". C.C. put out a solo album and (depending on the story of the day) asked/was asked to sing a few songs on the proper reunion album (he already wrote most of them). God awful. Like "skip them every time" awful.
Tommy can drum, and keep drumming, and put all his creative energy into Tommyland. Vince and Mick do have a say with the music, but Nikki'll still be top dog. Doubt he'd have it any other way. Nikki and Tommy were both at Vince's wedding (I found a very funny picture in a Rolling Stone by the way, will have to scan it), the bad blood isn't "I'll kill you if we're ever alone in the same room", but if it weren't for the money....there wouldn't be a new album.
But if it takes throwing money at them to make them behave, I'm all for giving them what I can spare.
All I'm sayin' is I hope Nikki does his job, writes some decent songs, and keeps the other three in line.

He'll do something else. Guaranteed. Always does. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Haha that music video is weird...when he jumps into the pool in his white linen pants wouldn't you expect to see "the legend..." Well at least I did. Yeah his show is pretty boring and I can tell its kind of fake because the dialogue is pretty odd. But he does look really really good anyways... |

That would make a good video. And a good video theme, since "Get Naked" featured it hidden behind a very large remote. Meh, we've all seen it. Or should have by now.
By the way, you forgot his new "Ink not Mink" campaign for PETA. Nudity is his biggest talent. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Pam and publicity, I'm sure. He's never exactly been a Rikki Rockett when it comes to animals... _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
