I Miss My Old Froum...........

Ok I know know no one will really care but no matter how hard I may try I can't get used to new forums. I knew this one forum that was my first that I had ever been to. And for awhile that was my life. People talked about things I like and since there were only a few members because It was a pretty new, I got to know everyone there. I was treated just like everyone else and I made friends with everyone. But well,........there was an "incident" and now it's dead as heck. (One of the system admins deleted the owner of the forum and took over then just left it there to rot.) So basically the owner was backstabed and now isn't the Admin............................So everything is dead now.
And now I am in an extreme depression mode. Me and the original owner still IM eachother and talk but things pretty much suck.

The end

It sounds stupid but it ment a TON to me.
Sorry but I just had to tell someone whether they care or not.

Yeah, I've had that happen to me a lot. The ABC boards were taken down, Warner Bros. started banning everyone (I went through 13 names before everyone I knew left anyway), and other boards just end up going to hell as new members join and ruin how it used to be.

Sucks.

I guess it all just depends on the personality of the people who communicate with eachother. Things could go good or bad between people. I am just happy to know that there are people here that I can talk and make friends with. And I also think that this forum would have a very hard time dying since there seems to be so many members here.
I will try to lift my spirits more because I have been in a deep mode of depression. I think I will watch .hack//sign on DVD. That always makes me happy. ^_^

My first forum, too. I doubt anything will happen to the FAC forum seeing as how it's connected to the main art site. There are thousands of members posting art, so I doubt the forums will die out.

It's not so much a matter of whether or not they'll die, as they are part of a main site and not on their own, but the atmosphere and people can/will certainly change.

I'm generally not against new people until you sit back a year later and realize "what the hell? This used to be so much cooler". 'Cause half the time it isn't even that the new people suck (as in some boards that get taken over by little kids that can't behave themselves) but that new personalities n' new interaction between people change the old vibe. Same thing happened in chat. At first it was a relatively small amount of people who were on often. Then there would be a lot of little kids role playing and babbling in the afternoon but gone by 8. Then there got to be brats that just never logged off. WTF?

And I'm all for new people showing up, but especially in chat there'd be a group of us who were discussing something and one or two people would just go on and on right in the middle of it. . . . .

And on some boards, you just run out of things to talk about. That's why I don't stick around themed boards for very long. Because you get tired of the same threads being brought up over and over by new people. "Wow, isn't _____ so cool?" "Didn't you love the episode where _____ happened?!". Especially the ones that turn into Nazis about off topic things, and yet it says right on the top of the boards that they're there for people to make friends. Um...how? :huh:

I used to be on MSNs network like over a decade ago. everyone new everyone. then it outgrew itself all the old geezers left...I wouldnt know that place if someone gave me a map now, oh and the people are a pack of British cigerettes there now too.

I hope it stays sane (well kinda) here. I guess if the kids are semi kept in check, theres no baby fights like (my groups better that yours..and are sincere) and everyone stays friendly this should be fine.

I don't expect any mass problems with idiots being out of control since the mods are some of the most involved people here, unlike some forums which are a bit too hands off. If someone's annoying and being useless, their ass is gone. It's just the size and vibe that'll change. Hell, it's changed a lot in the past few months with the addition of Lasher, Layz, Raymei, etc.
