On the outside, FAC is a community. On the outside, highschool is a jungle. On the inside, FAC is a jungle and inside some highschools are safehavens that can feel like a community. Both are alike and different at the same time. The forums here in particular seem to be most active in typical highschool behavior. After all, over 50% of the site is populated by the teenage age group.

Below is a list of issues in your average highschool and could possibly be present in FAC. Give your opinions on how these issues could be present in FAC. This takes some creativity and actually some coherent thought. Think you scrubs are up to it? ;)

*Cliques/groups

*Peer pressure

*Thinking about the future

*Body image

*Prejudice

*Bullying

*Disrespect

*Social status

Remember, think about how these may be present in our very own FAC forums. I can see where there's at least one example of each of these here. Can you?

*Cliques/groups - Rather apparent to anyone who's been here more than a day. Some people get along better with others and gravitate to them.

*Peer pressure - Don't be a n00b. Grr! Lots of pressure to modify annoying behavior, even if it doesn't break any actual rule.

*Thinking about the future - Not at liberty to say *shifty eyes* Nah, it's world domination.

*Body image - Um... my insecurity kinda checks out as soon as I log on. Sad And I think it does for most everyone else, since a single compliment sends the most insecure of people (or so they claim) into a photo posting frenzy. Y'all just wanna feel pretty. :(

*Prejudice - Inu Yasha fans suck. So do Green Day fans. I'll hate them all I want.

*Bullying - And those said people who suck will know it. :(

*Disrespect - People tell Denis he sucks. Surprised Not a lot of respect here at all, which is how it should be. PC can only go so far before it's silly. Respect mod authority or else. B)

*Social status - Everyone is below Denis. *sigh* Which isn't fair, since he's one of the least social.

*Cliques/groups: People in FAC seem to flock to people who share similar interests with them. Kind of like in any highschool. But at least in FAC, its easier to find these people because the interests are like right in your face. I kind of stereotyped the typical FAC cliques into these:

Inyasha (or any kind of anime character) fangirls
The Smart Anime Fans
Newbies
no0bs
Forum Elite (includes Denis, Mods and Forum Admin and Site Helpers)
forum trolls
Greenday(or whatever band is currently the "in" band) fans
Photowhores
Attention whore which ranges from either (photo attentionwhore to depressed emo attention whore)
Depressed Life Advice addict
Smart music fans
Artists from the main site who pop up only once in a few months to post and then leave to never been seen again
Gray fangirls

*Peer Pressure: fallen covered the no0b pressure which is true. People who are like just starting to feel comfortable in the forums want to make a good impression and one of the most effective ways is to not act no0bish. Posting pics of yourself is another big one. Especially if a certain Nirvana loving Brit asks you personally. Having YIM is like something older members like need to do. >_>

*Thinking about the future: Ah, there's always that worry of how you're going to balance changes in your offline life with your life on FAC. Some might even like plan on living closer to some of their good FAC friends someday which is fun to do.

*Body Image: Because FAC is known for its population of good looking people, the pressure is on for members to look their best when posting in the Photos section. At least on FAC, its not like we're models (although some could certainly pass for one) so the pressure isn't as bad as in school.

*Prejudice: There's a bit of a hatred towards the no0bs around here and thats understandable. The fangirls and Greenday fans get themselves into a lot of trouble too. Newbies have it though too because well, they're newibes.

*People above may get teased or chewed out for their behavior and moods. But most of the time, the bullying will come from no0bs who don't know their place in the forums and want to challenge themselves against a higher authority like a mod or even Denis.

*Disrespect: Mods don't seem to get as much as they should. Denis doesn't get nowhere near as much as he deserves. Some older members might have trouble respecting younger members, especially ones who may seem to like not be that cool.

Social Status: Status food chain goes something like this:

Denis
Forum Admin
Mods
Site Helpers
Forum Elders/popular members
Forum Regulars (the normal ones)
Forum Regulars (the spazzy ones)
Forum Regulars (the bitchy ones)
forum trolls
no0bs
Newbies
Dust

Never been to highschool. Hmm

The Mods tend to be bullys. I show them all the respect they deserve, none. Cept Kate <3 But she's been really bitchy lately too. :(

I respect Denis greatly for creating a great site. I love Fan Art Central and there's many things that make it unique. The rating system-the simply profile page. But not so much for choosing mad and bad Modorating.

I do belive there is peer presure. I was bullied and teased for not having waxed eyebrows, and Fallen kindly showed me a link to a waxing website. Pleanty of peer presure. It's a good thing I don't fall for it.

*Body image

See above.

*Prejudice

Frito's unnacceptance of "brown people" and OS when they were here.

*Cliques/groups

they ussually die a painful death.

*Social status

Doesn't have anything to do with post count, that's for sure. Wink I'm so glad silver is gone.

I'm not really in the mood for this kind of sh*t dogss. I'm a bully huh? And the only one you can respect is Kate? How often do I even post here anymore you twit? Brown people? Funny... when was the last time I said anything about that? When the joke died. And honestly you really shouldn't even start with the os sh*t. If you were around, and a part of it, maybe. But you weren't. Don't talk about things you clearly know nothing about.

I find your attitude a little funny, considering what I spent and hour of my day working on this morning. You really have no clue do you?

It's a pity you don't conform to some of it. :(

Or you could just move to one of those little european countries where the women are huge and don't shave anything.

I'm guessing something involving the Dewroo and the private parts.

Oh yeah, I remember that, I was such a n00b that time. Arguing with bunch of people in that Hitler thread was probably what got me started in my forum-spamming process. <3

I'm a green day fan, but i'm not a 'fangirl'. I totally love green day, and i love billie joe. I'm a loyal fan, (no offense) and i wont be pressured into saying "oh fallen, i agree, you're sooooo smart" (like some n00b "who loves green day" thread creator did)
I respect all three band members, I think they are VERY talented. And no, its OBVIOUS that they are not the best band ever, but I LOVE them, and nobody, with all the smarts and logic in the world, can talk me out of it.
I dont like them because they are popular, or because they are 'in'. I'm not that kind of person, i dont follow the crowd. I do what I like, and if i like happens to be what is popular, then whoopdeedoo. Not like i intended that, i mean come on, I listened to Kate Bush and Queen when Britney Spears and N'SYNC were popular.

Doesn't matter. Green Day fans are still bottom of the musical food chain, right there just under Poison and Slaughter fans. So a part of me is there, too. All the power to ya on not backing down, still doesn't mean much.

Kena...

I said they were stereotypical groups. Meaning that they're probably not that accurate. I mean, thats like saying all highschool stereotypes are accurate and we all know they aren't. There are like exceptions and loopholes 'n whatnot.

But yeah, stereotypes aren't like always true. So like don't hate me. :/

Preachin' to the choir. Try having this on your t-shirt and getting no funny looks. I dunno, I think most people forget that 50% of my bands suck too. They just don't know it 'cause the kiddies weren't born yet. Sad Thus, nothing to talk about.

I should devise a plan to mislead them into believing Pretty Boy Floyd were the 80s equivalent of Pink Floyd. Cool

Aww, super gay.

I still can think of like three other bands who should've been the number one hairmetal band instead of them. Seriously, "Every Rose Has Its Thron" was like their big "OMG! Everyone loves Poison!" hit and you know it. ;)

At least their outfits are bitchin'. The one on the far left is hot. Whats his name? I'm going to spam Random with pics of him. Smile

Stfu. Grr! Sad I'm moving this discussion to music after this so I can properly defend what little honor they have.

Rikki Rockett's on the far left, half my sn on DA.

Rikki, C.C., Bret, Bobby.
