Best elimination yet.

I hate Pretty Vegas Grr! x1000

I had to call my friend n' laugh at her 'cause she'd been saying all week that they liked Suzie so much, she was gonna win, blahblahblah

Suicide Blonde sucked (as did JD, but that's another matter entirely).

I still think it'll be MiG now. JD can't sing the slower songs at all and struggles with the upbeat one, they all sound the same. And Marty screams too much.

(Kiss From a Rose was such better encore material than Pretty Vegas <_< )

That was crap!

I don't even want to waste my time with everything wrong with that. MiG was far better than JD. Even Marty could have won. Bullshit.

Fuck you, INXS. Way to take the hint from the audience, considering JD was always in the bottom since halfway through, and MiG and Marty were favorites. Oh well, I can go back to not caring about INXS without Michael now.

Plus, JD's ugly, and so are the band members. Michael was pretty, Marty is very pretty, now they're just an ugly band.

Meh. That new song was crappy anyway. INXS has a year or two left in them, tops, probably for the best the better people can do their own thing that won't be attached to a stupid contest. Depressing, though. Someone more talented than JD should have won. Anyone, anyone at all.

It was actually rather disappointing that INXS themselves were very boring performers. I wouldn't spend the money in the first place to see that.

Guess even a slightly better concept like this is subject to horrible reality show endings. I want them to do a follow up about how much they hate working with the asshole. Laughing

It was major crap! Grr! I can't believe that JD actually won. I believe that this show was rigged hence the fact that JD was practically the main person being focused on.

Once MiG got kicked off I thought it was pretty pointless to watch after that. I saw parts of INXS perform with JD and Marty. It was pretty boring to watch so I just waited till about the last 10 minutes of the show and saw that JD won.

I was disappointed in INXS but I don't believe that they're gonna last very long with JD being their singer or they will kick him out of the band first because he'll go back to being an asshole again.

I wonder what band they're gonna do next. I can't believe they're still gonna do another season since they didn't get very high ratings. Well hopefully that conclusion won't suck as much as this one did.

Ya know, I kinda had the feeling it may have been really set up too. Only because nothing about JD said he should win, and while the voting system is great in theory, it also makes it entirely possible for the band to know who will win all along and just not choose them to leave if they end up in the bottom 3.

Some stuff was obviously rehearsed, and other was the normal reality show BSing, but... meh. INXS has maybe a year left, and they'll get what they wanted out of it, a few more sales than they would have had.

God knows what band they'll drag up for next year. With bad ratings, it'll probably be some trendy piece of crap to get more people to watch.

'K, now that all my other discussions have pretty much come to a close on other forums, I'll quickly summarize the conclusion that most all of them have come to.

Typical reality show set up. But with carefully constructed aspects.

- INXS hit all the major cities looking for "the best", in typical reality show style. Surely most of them sucked ass. They also went to the talent agencies looking for people like Marty who are already involved in their own thing but are looking for publicity.

- Marty obviously never really wanted to front INXS. How much promotion did the Love Hammers get? Including their song, Trees. Now that it's so popular, all he has to do is go back, they'll release the single, and voila. He played along, of course, to get fan attention, but he doesn't fit INXS at all. Of course, that means he'd have been a very good choice for winner, but he was in it for publicity. (and all the power to him for it, hope he has much success)

- MiG seemed like the obvious choice and was presented as one of the "top contestants" (strong singer, attractive, australian, etc.), but was never really an option. His theatre background did show in the last few weeks, and I can't agree with his choice of last song, except that if he was already sure he wasn't going to win and wanted to sing BR for INXS. He'll go back to being successful.

- Suzie was the token female to mislead people into thinking that they really might choose a woman to replace Michael.

- The rest were just there thinking they were really competing to front the band, when in reality it was basically decided from the start, except for the order they'd be eliminated.

- Pretty Vegas is a rip off. It's been pointed out that JD's verses are identical to an Elvis song, "Rubberneckin", right down to the placement of "baby". He's a celebrity impersonator and always will be. People who have seen them perform in Hollywood so far say he's an ugly Hutchence clone. Tries to sound just like him, only isn't as good. Wow, way to go INXS.

As far as reality shows go, it was pretty good. Great performers, good songs for the most part, and actual talent required. All the other stuff... well, it's probably best in the long run. MiG and Marty will have success with their own things, JD can be an asshole in INXS then go back to living in his car.

EDIT: I may have to kill myself. Further digging in my most trusty gossip boards has yielded a selection of names being thrown around for next season. Among them are Queen, Van Halen, Genesis, and The Doors. Queen doesn't sound interested from things I've seen, and they might as well hire MiG at this point. They hand picked him for the play. Van Halen would be a nightmare, Eddie is in terrible shape, and they couldn't even pull in sales with Sammy. I can imagine Eddie sitting there stuttering through his opinion of each performer. Genesis aren't into it, and if it comes to The Doors...the world will end and fire will rain down on us all.
