What do you call a game in which you don't kill people, don't slay monsters, don't break s**t, don't fight the forces of evil, don't save the day, don't have awesome powers, don't race cars, and don't shoot things up? Lame? Perhaps.
Or it could just be Harvest Moon.
Anybody else played any of the Harvest Moon games? My friends just recently got me addicted to one of the GBA versions. Goddammit.
How can something so lame be so addictive? IT'S ABOUT FARMING. Water plants, harvest crops, feed chickens, milk cows, get married to one of the local singles. Whatthehellwhyisthissoaddicting. .__.;
Anybody else a sad addict, or at least heard of them? _________________ FAC |

I'm proud (?) to say that of all the Harvest Moon games, I have never finished a single one. And I've played like, 4. They're fun for a little while, but I find that when they get boring, they really get boring.
Especially with some of the older ones, money is such a huge issue, I hate to do the same thing everyday: feed the animals, pet them, make sure they're happy, water the crops, and make sure there's enough time to get a flower or something to some chick. Then after sunset I have to go out and weed the field, get firewood, feed for the animals. Rinse and repeat the next day...
It just gets so repetitive that it's too hard for me to pick the game back up after I've put it down. :/ _________________

I havent played Harvest Moon for a loooong time..I used to love the game, heck, I even moderated a HM fansite's forums for over a year.
Sure, the games seem awesome from the preveiws, it's like, something that keeps you coming back, and wanting more, it's like a drug and the only way to feed your beast like urges is to milk your cows and pick tomatoes.
Either that or play something that has a point/decent ending. _________________ |

I ain't played it, I've only ever seen one of their games in the shops for the Gamecube.
Even though I haven't played it I know some silly boring games can be a bit addictive.
From what I've heard of Harvest Moon is very repeatative and can really bore some people off it. If it just repeats everything everyday, how can you complete it? Just wondering........ _________________ http://www.fanart-central.net/profile-Kes.php- Profile.

And I think its stupid that they made Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life, its stupid and the only difference is being a women farmer instead of a male farmer. _________________ |

actually, there are other differences too. Like for example, you can train your dog right away, you don'thave the super fertile plot place, and your grass for fodder require fertilizer to grow. Yep, I'm an addict too. ^^ |

I bought Harvest Moon: More friends of Mineral Town a few months ago, and I really didnt enjoy it for the few hours I played. There werent many note worthy differences (Yeah, You can play as a girl, you really dont care about the difference after awhile.) I personally had more fun with the original HM: Friends of Mineral Town game, but that might be beacause I'm a Poupuri Fan..
I also played the original AWL, I have yet to pick up the Girl's version for fear of being dissapointed-- Though I do hear it's more challenging.
Anybody hear about Shiawase no Uta having a possible NA release? If it ever does, I think I'd buy it. My favourite babe is in there, Dia. And the reason I bought that up is beacause I saw screenshots in english, and there is no english text in Shiawase No Uta (unless you give your character a name in all caps..). Yes, I even saw a translated menu..If this isnt just a fan prank, I'm definetly shelling out the cash when that bad boy hits the shelves.
AND ITS ON THE GAMECUBE OMFG FANGIRL <3 _________________ |

okkkk. Yikes. I just play it when I beat all the other games and I'm bored. Here's a hint for HM: A wonderful life OR Another wonderful life. If you buy cows near the end of your first year, when you skip ahead 3 years, they're all grown up and ready to impregnate quickly. Coolo. I got lucky and found that out. ^^ |

I was about to say Animal Crossing, but then I read the third thing you said. Stupid axe.
My little sister wants to get the new Harvest Moon game for gamecube, 'Another Wonderful Life.' Hehheh, wonder how long that'll last... _________________ It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.
How long did it take my brother to defeat those characters using Yoshi? Two minutes.
I like to obsess over stuff. Here are all the things I'm obsessing over:
Song: Seize the Day by Default
Anime: D.Gray Man
Anime character(s): Kanda
Video Game: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Video Game character: Wolf O-Donnell from Star Fox Assault
OC: Ray Eclrida, copyright of me (duh!)

Animal Crossing was my frist GC game, dont diss it. That thing's got mad props in my book. Never again will you run around for hours shaking trees looking for little bags of bells...
Good times.
I personally wouldnt reccomend buying any HM games besides Back To Nature (boys ver, kthnx) and Shiawase no Uta, those have the best replayablity points in my book, but FOMT is good if you have to go on a trip and want to kill 60+ hours. And I wouldnt buy Another Wonderful Life unless it's been released player's choice (19.99 price tag, I believe.), not really worth shelling out 29.99 for, imo. _________________ |

Too late, I've played it, and was able to pay off my house (entirely). I was the first out of my siblings to get a statue of myself. _________________ It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.
