Animes Dubbed,censored,missing Some Episodes

yea,i hate them. i watch the dubbed card captor sakura and compared it to the original and the dubbed totally sucks. sakura's originally sweet voice became a (to me) rather snobby one,and instead of mei ling and syaoran being cousins,they became unrelated in the dubbed version!plus they cut some scenes so tt the show seem to focus more on shaoran than sakura. the same goes for some other animes,it destroys originality of the story.

I noticed a good chunk of episodes missing from CCS, it got a bit confusing coz it skipped so many parts.
It kinda goes with any anime thats gone out of japan.
Shaman king had a lil missing in parts.
Yu-gi-Oh! was good in the original and then it was a total nightmare to watch the dubbed. They wouldn't even let u see a slap part or watch Mokuba throw a flower in the lake to say goodbye to someone.

Ya, But what about the Japanize, There dubbings of Our shows are the same way! Sad

It's more about The kingons then the humans in star trek for them.

Oh my, Sailor Moon, I loved it, but it was cancelled, for what reason, some poeple say because of the Starlights & how they turn from men to women & all kinds of other things.

Maybe if I would've saw the subbed YuGiOh, I probably would have liked it a lot better. Because of the dubbed, it's not my favourite anime.

Another one I noticed was Digimon. A lot of drinking usage & stuff, but of course if you seen the 1st season, they had a Gotsumon drinking hot sauce instead of beer.

Card Captors Sakura & Shaman King I loved the dubbed version, the dub was allright, but nothing in comparison.

I think I remember that as well.
I was sad when they didn't show it in the dub version. Of course they wouldn't. *sighs*

Yes, they are bad. Not only am I mad that they cut out a lot of good stuff (at least what I've noticed so far on the Mew Mew Power episodes), but they ruined the voices on it too. In Tokyo Mew Mew, Kish had such an adorable voice, and so did Tart, but in Mew Mew Power, their voices are freaky!! It's horrible!

Mew Mew Censored (a mew mew site) mentions all the parts that were cut out/dialogue changed/editted parts.

Some 'general rules' at Neko Tokyo (yet again, another site) that I read:
1)Chin-grabbing is perverted and evil and should be cut as short as possible.
2)All Japanese text is to be either removed completely or replaced with English lettering.
3)Lip-licking is not permitted. Sorry Kisshu.

That is the exact text that I read.

It took me about ten minutes to defeat Giga Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo from Super Smash Brothers Melee using Peach.

But we can't have kiddies watching Japanese cartoons that take place is *gasp* JAPAN!

That would just be horrible!

4Kids... is misserable.. I have yet to see them decently dub a series. I told some little frosh on my bus about the uncut yugioh, and he was amazed...

I'm actualy surprised 4kids decided to release the uncut YuGioh and Shaman King...Even though they're REALLY hard to find in my area.

Dude, buddy. Don't buy it if you know what's good for you, [i]Funimation[/i] released it. :mellow:

All they do is they subtitle the japanese voice overs with the dub script, just substituting the japanese names in instead of the dub ones. That's why there's poor timing on the subtitles, and sometimes there's subtitles when no one's talking... :(

You're not getting a translation at all; you're better off buying bootlegs or something - they're pretty much the same with the bad translations, just that bootlegs are naturally cheaper.

Or just buy the Japanese DVDs in the first place, although those are way too expensive for most people. :/

Fayore's right. =( Don't buy them! Definitely go for the originals. They just take the same dub script and use it as subtitles.

It's sad, really. They can be saying JOUNOUCHI plain as day in the Japanese, but the American subtitles will still say "Joey". It's almost insulting...

But do go for the originals. You'll get more episodes per DVD, and at a better price, too.

I'm planning on getting Battle City sometime soon, but I have a bunch of video games I want first. XD

I've only seen all the way up to right before the end of Alcatraz Duel Tower, pity me. Sad

And then I've seen the last five episodes of DM, of course. XD

Episode 21 of Outlaw Star. They cut it out, and it was THE KEY episode that sets up the rest of the plot. Without it, the remaining episodes make no sense. <_<

Fayore: Oh, God, don't even bother buying the Pharaoh's Memory arc. It was a complete and total butchering of the manga. D: I don't think I even watched all of it it was so bad... Sometimes the anime pisses me off. =( They gave Thief Bakura minions. Whatthehell. Anyway, yes. <3 Bootlegs are love. Attacked by big bubbling balls!
