I had contacts for three days, I made a topic here somewhere...

after wearing it for three days, the doctor said my eyes were too dry for them, and told me to throw it away. Sad

I wear glasses. My parents don't allow contacts; they don't exactly fancy me sticking things into my eyes, I expect...

Since my eyes aren't that bad, I only need the wear glasses when I watch tv or go out, but otherwise I don't wear them. I don't know what to suggest because I'd only wear contacts for a short amount of time if need be. :/

Dont. Buy. Contacts. My Grandfather got them and he got the contact stuck in his eye.

Scary s**t.

Completely depends on the person. Expect lots of trouble getting them in at first. But you'll get used to it, provided your eyes are suitable for them (like Brian's weren't).

Also, depends on how often you'd have to wear them. I have glasses for long distance reading (which...I don't wear often anyway), so contacts wouldn't be worth it. But if you would have to wear them all the time, it's worth a try if you really hate glasses.
Do whatever your parents say.
Not applicable in this situation. Rolling eyes

They suggested contacts, meaning get them if you want. Which I believe is the topic, the pros and cons of contacts vs glasses.

ok this might work for you if anything. this is what i do daily.

ok now i know how you feel with being affriad that your eye's are going to be too dry. all you have to do is buy some eyedrops to moisturize your eye's. and you can even take them out during the day if you need too.

this is when your at work school or doing something during the day. which ever you are doing. Then once you get home you can take them off and wear you glasses. that's what i do. and everyonce in a while take a break with contact for a full day and just wear your glasses. :P

and yes it is a bit of hell at first b/c your eye's are not yet used to them in your eye's. once your used to them you'll be good as gold. Wink. i don't care what other's say but. if you have a chance get contacts. they are by far the best thing that has happened to my eye's since i first got glasses. everything is so much clearer.Surprised

I'm the same way about touching my eyes. ^^

Glasses are a pain, but that's what I'd go with. I wore them back in elementry school for eye therapy.

If your squirmish about putting contacts in, try them anyway, and if you can't get yourself to do it, just get glasses or something...

My friend tryed contacts, but she hated putting them in, so she got rimless glasses instead... I think she looks weird without her glasses anyway. ^^

good: glasses don't get as lost as easily people will know if you take it off (i broke a girls contacts because i didn't know she took it off and put it her table)

bad:if u glses people might act like retards pretending thier blind just to wear your glasses (thoe dumbasses don't know if you have 20-20 or any good eyesight if they wear glasses thier eyesight will get worse)...i don't know about contacts but i don't want to stick my finger in my eye

I'm trying again next year, taking a long nap and sleeping short at night is probably why my eyes have been so dry recently.

I love contacts - every time I wear my glasses, I feel like I'm living in a fishbowl, and my field of vision is also really limited. My eyesight's so bad that I need constant vision correction anyway... and I hate the way glasses look on me.

Contacts take a bit of getting used to, but after a while it's no big deal at all. And if you're doing things correctly, it's the lens, not your finger, that's touching your eye.

Heh yeah glasses are really annoying at the cinema aswell or something because it cuts bits of the screen off and changes it (depending on the size of the glasses) its really hard to focus when all you can see is a line around your eyes. I could never get used to contacts but then I would guess I wasn't putting them in correctly or something.

My glasses are awesome. ^_^ I don't have a problem with that "line" you see, the frame is at the edge of my vision so I don't notice it. And since they're at the edge of my vision, they don't interfere with my sight badly, and I don't notice any changes at the cinema. It's all fine to me. :3

Lucky you. Mine are small frames that make the line really obvious. I may be getting a different frame soon though.

I don't like touching my eyes either, it's kinda gross. I had the choice of getting contacts, but I said I wanted my glasses for a little longer. Honestly I said that because I'd be too lazy to take the time and put them in. *heh

Unless they were the kind that have the designs and crazy colors in em'.
