QUOTE (Sludge)
We just got off the phone with Brent Muscat and he has confirmed that he indeed has oral cancer. He asks of you, "If you are religious please say a prayer for me, and if you're not - just wish me well."

This sucks bad, and we hate to report this kind of news. Brent is a non-smoker, and drinks rarely. He is for the most part a cleaner more sober than usual rock star. He has always been a stand up guy and we're sure that his positive outlook will help him get through this.

Brent has infomred us that he will have an operation soon and they will likely have to remove a part of his tounge. He also states that the Dr. said his fast reaction to go in and get checked is a good thing.

A message has appeared on Myspace courtesy of his wife (Ej) which we have included below.

"Wish Brent good luck, please! ( This is EJ, his wife. I'm writing this for Brent.)

About 8 weeks ago, he noticed a small bump on his tongue. And we really thought it was just a cold sore. About a week ago, his tounge became swollen. So he decided to see a doctor.

Yesterday the doctor informed us of some pretty bad news, that he has a cancer, and he needs to have surgery.

In the mean time he's going to be laying low and not playing any shows. Please wish him well and we would appreciate everybody's prayer.

PS. If you have a bump or any spot on your tongue, and if it doesn't go away in 2 weeks, go to see a doctor! Don't wait any longer than that!!!"

Muscat 38, is best known for his work as one of the dual guitarists in Faster Pussycat but has also done stints with Adlers Appetite, and a Los Angeles based group named Fizzy Bangers.

Metal Sludge is wishing Brent a complete and speedy recovery.
First Ricky Parent, now Brent. S'always the good ones. The ones who smoke, drink, and do crack their whole life live to be 104. He's a strong guy, though, he'll be ok. Just look at Eddie Van Halen. On second thought, don't. Brent will hopefully come through looking much better than Edward.

Anyway, mostly just for Sixx. What a very non-rock n' roll illness.

God must be screwing around with the rock world, he really must be for like all the worst case drug addicts and drinkers to survive and live long lives but the ones who stay somewhat clean get the cancer and the risk of dying.

This is really sad. Sad Why do all the pretty ones have to almost die?

I'm inclined to say he pawned them in a coke high and doesn't remember, but that would be mean of me. And I've probably been mean enough to C.C. over the past 18 years. Hope he gets his stuff back, I love those guitars. Sad Sad
