Logging In

Ok, I know some of you are going to get mad at me for posting this cause' I know a thousand other people did and then tell me to read the FAQs but, I've done that already, did everything they said, (except whatever that explorer6 thing was about, I have no idea what that is) but still I try to log in and I just go back to the main screen without being log in. Cookies don't work either, that's what most people say but it doesn't work. I haven't been able to log for a week and spent about ten hours or so trying to get it fixed but still nothing. Is there anymore suggestions besdies what's on the FAQs? Please, I've been on FAC for about three months and only about 1/8th of the time I've tried to log in have ever worked. It's driving me insane. Grr!

Please! Surely someone should know some other tips besides what's in the FAQ. Just no matter what I do or no matter how many different things I try it doesn't work.

Ummmmm....... Stay logged in. DO NOT LOG OUT. Whether you're in the main site or the forums, there might be someone who can double check on your password.

The more you have to login and logout, the more likely it is you will run into this problem. If you're on your own personal computer and no one else has access to it, then you don't need to log out.

Otherwise, you need to log out after each session so that anyone else who uses the computer (and more importantly, browses FAC with it) won't be logged in on your account.

We don't completely understand the problem either. When you log in to FAC, the FAC server sets a cookie on your Internet browser to "keep" you logged in. However, if a problem comes up while setting the cookie, FAC won't be able to acknowledge your login, and then it treats you like a "guest".

The general fix is to delete all cookies from Fanart-central.net and restart your Internet browser, but this is not an end-all guaranteed solution. What really baffles us is exactly HOW this problem occurs. The forums almost never experience this trouble... just the FAC main site.

Yes, stupid glitch. If I find a new way that can help beside deleting cookies and reseting the internet I'll let you guys know...kinda doubt it though, I'm extremely computer stupid. :wacko:
