Yeah, I remember finding a picture of a dinosaur (a velociraptor) rated NC17 by its artist, but it was perfectly G material.... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA
I've started thinking that the "Quick sketch" option should mean that the pic will not appear in the category you place it, that it can only be viewed from your gallery page.
Kinda like, dare I put it this way, dA's "Scraps" system.
: O! I did not know that. I don't change my pictures from quick sketch, i just put it up there cause i don't want to deal with it.
<_< Learn something new everyday.
Sometimes, it bugs me when people put art up like that (old art), but i think if it was really good old art and they fixed it (if they could), then that's alright. : ) _________________

Not sure if anybody else mentioned this, but when people submit something they KNOW is a quick sketch (and even say so in the description...) but submit it as high-quality "because they don't want it to get deleted". -__-
I think the admins need to go on a taste-purge. =D _________________ FAC |

Sometimes I think we need to exercise some power-enforcement of FAC standards from time to time. For comparison, over at dA, they don't fix your mistakes (such as wrong category errors), they just delete pics.
Moving pics day after day just to be nice is tiring... and at the end of the day, unless we specifically tell them we moved it, they don't learn anything. (And when we do, some people have the nerve to fight over it).
A little "Your picture has been deleted by FAC site staff. Reason: Wrong category placement" from time to time could be MUCH more effective.
(Sorry for the off-topic rant, but I needed the vent) _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I think some purges would piss alot of people off..
But It'd be entertaining to watch them flame the mods and get their accounts deleted.
Anyway...
I think alot of my pet peeves have been exaughsted on this thread.. |

There haven't come up any art type which I would hate or dislike... usually it is that I hate one pic only, but love other. _________________ |

Yaoi, yuri, and cheap re-colors/cheap OC's have been mentioned, so most of mine have been covered as well. There's one more, and I'm not sure if this was brought up but...
Totally awesome art that everyone stares at due to it's amazing quality, but all the artist does is complain about how badly it sucks. Every freakin' piece they do gets hundreds of comments and favorites (plus people practically worship them), but all they do is angst about it's lameness or whatever. Sorry, but to me that makes a person look stuck-up and like they aren't satisfied enough that everyone loves their stuff - they have to get even more attention by saying they don't like it. Honestly, if you hate it that much, why post it? And if you must post it, must you complain about it rather than just not commenting on the quality at all?
Also when people draw what's popular just for attention - even if they hate the subject matter. Unfortuneately, it usually works.
...okay, so there was two more. _________________ DA Gallery: http://katwarrior.deviantart.com

It's not the artist, most of FAC has incredibly low standards.

Actually, I was thinking more DeviantArt in that one. Lots of people who's stuff really is appealing to the eye and deserving of attention, and yet they just gripe about it. :\ I'd be more specific and link to the page of one who comes to mind immediately, but I think that'd be rude. Then again to my knowledge they don't use this site but... *shrug* better safe than sorry and embarrassed to no end. _________________ DA Gallery: http://katwarrior.deviantart.com

All of my pictures are quick sketches. ^^;; I guess I just don't have anything really noteworthy. All right, my goal, to draw at least one picture which will not be in the quick sketch section. *nods* |

On the artists bitching about how bad a good piece is...
Artists look at them way more criticaly than anyone else veiwing their piece would. Especialy students who want nothing more than to improve.
I have the personal beliefe that nothing I produce can ever show what I'm capable of, just what I have the experiance to do at the moment. Some of my favorite pieces that I spent weeks on, and even the ones I glowed with pride when I "fishised" them, I swear I could write nearly an entire essay describing what could be done better, and where horrid, unforgivable mistakes are.
It does seem rather obnoxious and concieded when I share these faults along with a finished piece, but the more time you spend looking at a seemingly finished piece, the more things you find that you don't like..
Or at least... That's the experiance of every artist, teacher, and friend I've talked to about the subject... |

Yeah, I suppose it's like what my mom tells me when I keep pointing out faults in a picture. "You're your own worst critic." |

My latest pic (which is about 95% complete by now) will, inevitably, be a great example of this. There were SO many things that went wrong with it, but I don't think anyone else will really notice... or perhaps care. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

They... probably won't. The last time someone looked at my art, I mentioned one of the mistakes as an offhand note, and the person got mad at me for that. Said I was only saying that 'cause I was "fishing for compliments." ._.;
I'll admit that people who always complain about how bad their work is is a bit annoying sometimes, but only when it's obvious they're looking for good comments. I think it's worse to have someone assume you're doing something you're not; it's atrociously rude and arrogant of them.
That's why I prefer not to comment whenever someone's looking at their art critically. _________________

I always tell my problems that I've noticed too. =/
I dislike when people insult their art, but on the other hand, I hate it when people gloat.
"OMG this is sooooooooo good I loooooove this hes sooooooo hawt dontcha think?????" etc. And then you try to critique it and they get pissed off. >< Why are these people allowed to draw? _________________ FAC |

Umm anything that has their own little fansite. I know I have did one but what get's annoying is that their are so many Inu-yashas and other things like Sailor Moon. I like Anime but gosh... we need more Variety here. Also it makes me mad that some people do post things that look like they didn't put any effort in it. Gosh you know my last piece of work which I haven't submitted yet took me three days to color! Gosh I know we don't expect you to be no Devian Artist but Man quick messy skitches that have anything at all thats remotely say effort on it just get's on my nerves. I mean their are sometime and people who draw one within 5-10 minutes and it's a masterpiece but those are rare. Sorry If I sound like a Noob who's got issues. I do. |

I sometimes like to look at quick sketches, shows that they've been practicing and doing some stuff. But I don't like the sketches that you know they weren't practicing on and they just put up there for the hell of it.
I really hate people, or at least most people who put up crappy s**t. : ( _________________
