One of the best animes out there. I haven't hear much complaints about it since it first showed up in the states a year or two ago on adult swim. Only from people i had the complete opposite taste in or didn't have a clue about what they were talking about.
I find myself now though, seeing it again on adult swim (just happen to catch it) and i picked up a few small lines and details i missed. It's one of those things you can always go back to without dreading it. It's just easy to slip right into.
I'm a little surprised no one talks much about it. It's one of my all time favorites yet it doesn't even get enough underground talk on it....disappointing really. |

I really like the character designer for it.

I really liked FLCL, I'd take short artsy series over things like Naruto any day. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

You're not supposed to get the stoqryline.
I love this series, I used to watch it all the time. It had the best visual humour in it. _________________

Really? See, i get things like that utterly easyily. Yeah, that sounds weird the way i put it too but meh.
She's an alien, his older brother left and went to the us to be a big time baseball star. His dad is horny and doesn't seem to mind discussing naughty things about his sex life or his sons sex life or potential for one, etc etc. School girl was older brothers girlfriend til he dumped her and left. Now she likes using the boy as a little toy but is weird in a way that he's sort of like her little bro or cousin at times. That damn guitar isn't just a guitar, it's really an alien weapon with special powers. All sorts of different dimension stuff going on with her searching for her long lost love who is also like her #1 enemy and competition. All this good crap, etc etc.
I love it, it's hilarious. And the kid can be such a brat, but i still like him. That's genius. |

It's awesome. XD I love it in the first couple of episodes when they go into the manga and is like FOOLY COOLY a couple hundred times. and then when she picks up a letter from the boy's older brother to see that he's (the older bro) a girlfriend in the states.
The robot shits out the boy too.. LMAO. xD... FLCL = awesome. _________________

I really agree I've watched FLCL the whole series 3 times in a row without sleep and I still don't get the point of it. I mean it's weird, but addicting. You can't stop watching it untill you get it...untill you understand what it means. I think they put a hypnochip in some of the graphics. |

That's the one denis
I just love how they over exagerate the scenes in the first few episodes. With the whole manga part and how hard they are to spinning in circles and zooming in and out all for one little thing. We call it, drama! |

So awesome. FLCL. And then, the girl, she dresses up as a nurse... and Lol. "There's nothing inside your head. There was, now there is nothing."
The robot, shitting him out is awesome. _________________

Everyone really seems to love this anime. I've only seen like, what, 2 episodes, and I didn't really know what show it was anyways (I just happened to be watching when it was on) Hm, I guess I'll go find the manga and read it. |

The manga was done after the anime and it sucks in comparison, especially since a large part of FLCL's entertainment was its visual gags. _________________

I still like the artstyle though, very... avant-garde? It's experimental nonetherless. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

I remember when it was first out on adult swim, and seifer made a picture for it. I flipped out. It's a good picture to, i should get her to do a funny one like one of the scenes in the show. That would be good!
I just realized something, i never once tried drawing anything from FLCL! I should In the meantime, i'm going to look up how much a nice boxset is for it. Shove it down my parents throat for x-mas present this year. |

I fell in love with FLCL when I saw the first epp.
One of the main reasons I love it so much is that everybody seems to come away from it with a different impression. Not of some of the themes (coming of age, yeah yeah) but with all the understorys going on.
I got the insane idea one day to sit down and draw all of the occult connections I could from the show (Gainax is certainly quialified to dabble in occult themes, after doing their kabalastic fling in Evangelion). I still pick at it occasionally.
You can interpret the characters all sorts of ways, particularly Atomsk and Haruko. Haruko reads as a trickster god, while Atomsk is the archetype of the noble thief-two opposite sides of the same coin, their actions may be the same but their motives are very different (the trickster (think...well, Haruko) is purely selfish, while the noble thief (the thief-hero, think Robin Hood) is strictly unselfish, he protects the weak, gives to the poor.
In the Manga Atomsk is refered to as having the power of chaos. Haruko rings the Eris bell (goddess of chaos and discord), Atomsk could easily become her golden apple (having a wtf moment? Check here)
Haruko is coyote, fox, wolf, snake, she is the manipulator that hatches complex plans and destroys all that are within her path and somehow manages to save us all at the same time.
Atomsk is called an astral being in the anime, Haruko could easily be one as well, particularly since she seems to have tried her same tricks on Amarao when he was younger.
Then theres the whole theme about flattening minds with industrialism (yeah, the whole MM thing?), its a cry towards nonconformity and at the same time nostalgic for earlier times.
Well, I'm not going to ramble on forever about the show. Maybe I'll write an essay sometime...

Ummm..to annoying for me. Even though I love Bobobo..this show just gives me the chills. I don't know whats so great about it..The anime I like are:
-Awesome plots that make you think.
-Awesome characters.
-Again..an in depth plot that makes sence.
;D |
