Post your Jack-o-Lantern carving idea sketches and/or actual carvings.

We want to see the squash! Smile

Not the best quality pics. Can't really see what they looked like in the dark too well but.. whatever. The sailor moon one you can tell what it looked like. It sucked Smile But I had to try.

Looks very, very good to me Layz ^_^
You're pretty good

I didn't do mine the same way as you but there's one thing that's clear... It was ugly

@Layz, when you're not cutting the pumpkin, but shaving the picture in it, treating it with vegetable oil makes the pumkin more transparent, letting more light through.

or not, I THINK it was vegetable oil...

I'll have to remember that trick for pumpkin shaving.

Those are awesome, Layz! I can't think of which one I like best. Actually, I really like Simba, but they are all so well carved! Smile

Hah. I haven't carved a jack-o-lantern in years, but I had a weird opportunity to last week. There was a Halloween party last week for my school's Japanese-speaking population, and I ended up getting dragged to it by a friend. Most of the people there were the wives of visiting scholars and professors and stuff, so they didn't know any English, and since they were all from Japan, they didn't know about Halloween or pumpkin-carving! So I ended up taking two of the women under my wing and teaching them about that sort of stuff. It was pretty fun. ^^

My pumpkin is the third from the right. My "student"'s pumpkin is just to the right of mine (notice how they're exactly the same? ^^; ) My other "student" did the one furthest to the right.

My Japanese teacher made the winking jack-o-lantern. Surprised
