I just want to ask, is 8 hours the maxium time for waiting for the approval email for art? Cause it's been like a day and still there is no sign or anything about the stuff I uploaded.
Sorry if this is noobish...I'm not used to wait and approval piccy upload sites. ^^' Thanx. |

No the max, just a common number.
Right now the queue is very high so keep waiting. _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |

Sorry but I don't think I can find an edit button.
Anyway what happens if my pic that I posted on November 3rd doesn't appear in the November 3rd category??? |

Um, I posted at least 24 hours ago, and I still haven't been approved. It's kind of frustrating because the queue level said "low" and there were like 70 pictures ahead of me. I've seen probably an equal number of pictures in the Nov. 5 "recent pictures" section, and the times were obviously later than when I posted. My picture isn't bad, or offensive, or anything else I can think of that would prolong the time it takes to approve. Why is this?!?! I'm confused/frustrated/ Why must there be an approval system?

Because you touch yourself at night.
I actually agree with you, (that it's slow...) my sister joined the site this summer and it took her 9-10 hours for FAC to approve most of her pics while when I joined, back in last september, it took barely 3.
I don't recall FAC getting more approval staff, so I think it's the staff shortage problem. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

Why? Because when FAC was still young, a lot of users were uploading screenshots, official artwork, and pictures that weren't properly rated. You know, stuff that is clearly spelled out in site policies as not allowed... policies which those users supposedly agreed to when they registered....
That is why, and it's staying that way. Just sort the Site Discussions forum by "topic start date", "ascending order", "from the beginning." You'll find some particularly old crumbs down there. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Hey, I guess I should have said "why do people have to be dumb and submit stuff (which it clearly states in the rules they agreed to that is not allowed) and screw it up for the rest of us who DO read the rules and only submit stuff that is clearly stated therein"...I totally wasn't bashing FAC's choice to put things through an approval process, but WAS being frustrated about the people who made it necessary. And my REAL question wasn't answered: why hasn't my entirely appropriate, rule-abiding, properly-rated picture been approved yet? Sorry for any confusion.

The most likely reason is a combination of overworked site staff and a lot of submissions by artists. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

No, not quite. It means how many pictures are currently waiting to be approved. |
