Since this particular board is seeing a lot more activity than before, here's a couple things to keep in mind in order to keep everything somewhat orderly and civil.

[b]You aren't God[/b]

No matter how much you want to be supreme overlord whose opinion is law, you aren't. People are going to disagree. People will have their own opinions. People will think you're a stupid jackass. Feel free to debate with them, but don't go into anything expecting everyone to agree with your views.

[b]Live and Let Live[/b]

With so many genres and artists, everyone's bound to like something you don't like or not like something you love. Again, feel free to have as heated a debate as you want, but when it's all said and done you're gonna have to let people like whatever they want. You can question their sanity or hearing till you're blue in the face, but eventually it gets old when it's obvious no one's going to change their mind and both parties are simply repeating themselves.

[b]Show some damn respect[/b]

Can you make a thread purely about how much ____ sucks? Sure! (unless it's one of my boys, then you'll have to answer to me kidding....I know they suck) But do show some amount of courtesy to those people's fans. You can give someone as much shit as you want for liking a particular thing, but remember it's just a couple silly CDs and nothing to wage mortal combat against the person over. Not saying you can't share your opinion, defend that opinion, or say someone else's opinion is stupid. But remember that it's all just opinions on the internet, and in the end you're not the one who has to hear that crap. Let them enjoy their stupidity.


That's it. Just don't carry grudges or bickering into other places and keep it contained as best you can to one thread. Now let the battles begin!

you shoulda known Id write on this.....you do have a bit of a flare for comebacks about your boys and I figured that out with one or two words in a thread. I think its fun. no malace, I listen, but it mostly falls on deft ears with me....lol.

I do have to remark of the comment I made on the other thread of "why is this still alive". that wasnt a question to the mods, that was an exclamation to myself. I really didnt care if it was or not still alive, I was just amazed at the stupidity...nuf said.

but I have to admit I love how you do give me a ration for like two words outta me....and Im sure Im gonna get it when you read this again.

I've heard enough hair band hating to last four lifetimes. But the fact it's all completely true means I can't do anything but laugh and agree. It's the self important assholes that act like "Talk Dirty To Me" is "Sunday Bloody Sunday" that I personally can't stand. There are idiotic fans in every genre, and we glam people have to deal with those who have no sense of humor. How they enjoy hair metal and have no sense of humor is beyond me.

There's been a massive amount of grave digging lately. May have to start closing old threads if too many more are brought back nearly a month later.

I liked SBS! and like I said if they resurrect sh*t here from the grave it all good, you should know me a little by now that I think the whole conversation is bogus and love to keep reminding others to do thier own thing!

about this thread Yeah some people take stuff a little to seriously. like I was saying previously. I know I can get you going with the hair band thing and Im an antagonist. but its just fun and no harm ment. you give a good arguement. but remember you cant teach an old dog new tricks...lol.

oh and I did start it up about the hair bands again, but you have to find it. probebly already did......good night

Short answer: There's a disturbing number of fans (mainly ones who were teenagers at the time) who take hair bands far too seriously like their work is some kind of important social commentary that just isn't understood. Though not familiar with it, you can probably figure out by the title that "Talk Dirty To Me" is far from commentary about anything except, well, talking dirty.

It's really hard to get me going about hair bands. In the way I do about other things, at least. Because they're not meant to be taken seriously, and I don't. I'm sure I'm pretty antagonistic about a lot of things as well (rap still sucks), but hair bands are one of the last things in the world I'd try to change anyone's mind about because one can either look past the big hair or they can't. Either way it's fun.

Now...I'm gonna go eat. And I'm more than happy to give someone a good verbal beating if they want to give me a reason.
