right i hope this hasnt been said before but here goes nothing
i check my fac messages on a broadband and an aol computer. when im on the aol computer i can see the pics of the hour but on the broadband i cant. this is my suggestion, i think someone from fac should email people who get pic of the hour anf tell them. i know it would probilily be a hard job but it will help people to know if they have got a pic of the hour before. so far i have never seen any of my pics on pic of the hour but that doesnt mean none of them havent been pic of the hour. so what do you think cstdenis or fallenangel or anybody else? |

It's already a hard enough to find people that can Approve all of the pictures that are submitted to the site everyday. Also, the ones for Picture of the Hour are chosen completly randomly. So itisn't saying 'You have done so well on this pic we shall put it up' It's just one that got picked out. Personally it wouldn't matter to me because my pics are for other people to see not myself. Maybe the others members disagree with me but that's what I believe. |

The only reason for pic of the hour (which isn't going to be around much longer anyway) is to give random exposure to pictures that were submitted. The point is to perhaps get a few comments on something that wouldn't have otherwise been seen. Those comments are the "reward", not any sort of "ego boost", since as Kari said it is entirely random.
If you get an email saying ___ was pic of the hour but you didn't get any comments on it because it was pic of the hour at 4am, what's the point? _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
