Do you have a specific formula, or a guideline that you stick to when you name your pictures and submit to FAC or whatever? Do you add +!$'s in front just so your picture will appear on the top? or do you name it honestly, down to earth, or do you add some advertising elements to it, like "come in to see a good handjob"?
Personally, I try to limit to a phrase or a word, followed by my age when I drew it in square brackets [15] and what it is in a normal bracket (Scrap) (Contest) (Propaganda)...
I'm a bit obsessive about uniform gallery... How about you? _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

Used to just call them the name of the person in the picture. But my tendency to draw a single person way too many times kinda messed that up.
Now pretty much all my titles are song titles or phrases. Obvious reasons. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I usually don't give my submitted pictures the names I have given them. But i have been thinking of getting into my gallery and changing them all to their real names. Mainly because of the same reason fallen just gave. _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

Depends on what the picture is about. I try to avoid titles that are already used too often. We must have hundreds of pictures titled "Inuyasha". So if it's a pic of a dragon, I try to think of something else that can help describe it.

That's not (technically) allowed on FAC anymore, as it was WAY overused.
What really gets me, though, is those people who forget to put a title on at all. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I try to pic titles (in some places) that are sorta weird, but still relate to the subject matter in one way or another. More often than not I try to make them really out-of-whack so that you might just have to click the title to see how it fits. =P However, that's something I use more with DA than FAC.
Having all those little symbols in titles just to put them at the top drives me nuts. I'm glad it's not (technically) allowed anymore. _________________ DA Gallery: http://katwarrior.deviantart.com

I had the same problem as fallen, but instead of using song titles I just describe the picture, i.e. "Joan Baez Playing guitar in a field".
I don't use symbols or anything because I think that's cheating, but I do try to use titles that will appear higher on a list. For instance, simply the title "A Baby" will appear higher than "A Kid". _________________ |

Mostly i'll just put who/what is in the picture and in brackets if it was a request or art trade. |

I don't have to worry about it showing up higher on the page. 'Cause most of the categories I submit to are practically empty to begin with. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I put exclamation pionts twice on my picture titles. The first offense was when I was happy and had drawn Lan (Megaman). That catagory only had 6 pics at the time. The second time was when I put a picture in the Misc. section. That place is huge, I just wanted people to know that there was a picture by me in there. |

I gove my pictures nessesary names. Something that involes what's in the picture, or little hints on the main point in my pictures. I don't add anything crazy to them whatso ever, no (read discription) or any ~*Title*~ or anything like that. Not even if it's a request or a commision from someone, just a cool name that I like. That's what the descriptions are for, on my standerds that is.....
There are times when I can't think of a name, but it comes to me eventually. _________________ Wyat Fucking Earp! |

My title is normally somewhat descriptive of what the picture is, or has some relation to the concept I was trying to get across. I only tack on symbols when I mention it's line art. Sometimes it's a phrase that pops into my head while I'm working and won't go away. |

I put my titles in quotes, yes. I originally did it because I wanted my pics to stand out, but now it's just habit. I don't even care anymore. :/
I never have trouble naming my pics. My dA names are usually more creative, though, because here people don't click anything that doesn't include the character name or the word "sexy".

I try to name my pictures something interesting or original, because I don't like clicking on a catagory, and then half the pictures are named the same thing. (Inuyasha catagory, I'm looking at you )
Usually whatever name I chose winds up sounding silly, though. Bah. _________________ a jelly calypso castle in the sky |

Hmm I just give the smallest name I could possibly think of. Basically though most have done the same thing as well... so if I know they maybe many in the same character I come up with what my picture repersents and try to cut it down to smallest words as possible. But it's really hard to come up with names when people have multiples of the same character.. I totally understand.. yet I haven't posted any. |

I pick names that you normally don't see in the list. Instead of Naming a pic of a leopard just "leopard" I'll think of something people aren't likely to name a pic like that, something that stands out.
I think naming the pics are half the fun, unless the subject is so unusual that a matter-of-fact name would speak for itself, like "Zim Fish" for example. _________________ Mohawks are beautiful sculptures |
