Well this thread is basically just for people who plan on getting the 360 at launch.
I didn't want to be pumped about this system. But I gotta have PGR3!!!

There's only 11 days until launch (at least that's how I'm counting it... cause I plan on getting it at midnight on the 21st) Unfortunately I don't have one reserved, so I'm going to have to wait outside a store for 3-4 hours. And hope to get one. But if I don't get it at the midnight release, there's other stores that'll let it out the next day. So yeah, with anyluck I'll get my hands on one.

With them being released in three countries this year they are going to be on short order. And I'm glad they're doing that. But damn, I really want it on day one.

Anyway, long story short I'm counting down the days.

Here's what I'm planning on getting (if things work out for me)
Premium Package (The $400 bundle)
An extra wireless controller
PGR 3
Perfect Dark Zero

Um... yeah that's probly all I can afford.

Wow, I can't believe how much time has just flown by! My brother started counting down the days when it hit the fifty mark ^_^ . I plan on getting my own Xbox 360 eventually, but at the moment I just don't have the cash...Still, my brother has pre-ordered it, so I'll be able to play it too. I'm not entirely sure which package bundle he's getting but I think it will come with Perfect Dark Zero, Call Of Duty 2, and PGR3, he has also per-ordered Kameo separately.

I am far too poor to afford one. What sucks even more is that my parents will probably give my little brother one for Christmas. Which means I might have to visit home more often...

I work at a Cicuit City... At the Customer Service counter. All gaming platforms are sold at the customer Service counter. You can't make reservations on the 360.. what does this mean? Pandemonium for DG.

And CC associates get NO discount off gaming platforms.. :/

I don't quite have the willpower to buy one on launch day.... I'll probably just ask for one for Christmas (make my parents do all the work xD). I'm hoping to get Dead or Alive 4 and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, but I also really want a PS2 (so's I can play me some SC3).... decisions, decisions....

Almost makes me glad I don't work in the Electronics department at my job... though given how our location seems the bottom link on the chain, I can't say whether we'd be getting the 360 on its launch day ANYWAY....

yeah... I don't think it'll be as crazy as DG thinks. My local best buy will only get roughly 50 units!!!!! So I'm sure Circuit City wouldn't get much more. So yeah, as crazy as it could be...beyond the initial rush of lucky bastards. I think the stores will settle soon after they get sold out.

Well I just did a little local research. As to what retailers will have the system, and as to whether any of them had a midnight release of it. But there are no midnight releases. Which might actually help me. Cause I think I'm going to camp out for it. And yeah... there's 10 days till launch now. I was counting it as less, cause I was planning on getting it at midnight.

If I camp out like a nutjob for it, I think I'll get my hands on it. Wish me luck. I drew the line work of the face plate. So I'm going to scan that and design some flaceplates for it. Oh yeah, I'm waaaaay too pumped about it.

Don't think I'll get it. Maybe, but Sony is my system ^^ No matter what anyone else thinks. I'll most likely get the PS3 and maybe the X-box 360 if I have leftover money.

Good luck! That would be awesome if you could make face plates for it. If you do, could you post a pic of it here so we could see it? I'd love to see how it looks^^.

Wow, ten days to go already? This month is just going by so fast! Rather weird considering that other times I've really looked forward to a release date it took forever to arrive.

Well depends on what you're waiting for. I mean the only systems I've really anticipated have been the dreamcast, and now the 360. I got the dreamcast no problem on launch (but sega has never had a sellout system). But yeah both systems I've only been pumped about them for the months leading up to their release. The 360 was revealed at E3... so that wasn't all that long ago. But yeah, with all the stuff I've been seeing on it, and having played it... I really want it. I'll for sure post the face plate I make. I'm thinking of making a stencle and spray painting it. Can't really use anything other than spray paints... I mean acrylic would just build up. And I'm just thinking of a logo-esque design. Versus something like a pic of master chief or something.

But yeah we are down to 8 DAYS!!! And the 8th day I'll be playing that thing (if camping out works for me).

A lot of people won't be getting it for a long long time. Even the people ready to be on the frontline, such as myself. Even the shmucks that pre-ordered them 4 months ago will be getting screwed.

Microsoft is screwing up left and right, and the thing isn't even out yet.

Lets start with the "core" (gutted) package. They should've never planned to release that at launch!!! That's something that should've been introduced a year or two later. As it is for the very casual gamers, that may only plan to get the system for one or two games. But who will want it at launch? The normal gamers, and hardcore gamers. So thanks for thinking about us @$$whipes.

Then there's the serious shortage. Which they could've predicted during early production. But they're going along with their plan to release it in 4 countries anyway!? (yeah Canadians are getting them too).

There's so many things going south here, it's not even right. They should've really screwed the japanese marketing plan. The japanese serious don't care for this system!!! So why not provide more for your own market, c'mon now microsoft... wake up. And given the very limited interest in japan, they should've had a march/spring release out there.

We've got 4 days left till launch... and I'm losing my freakin' mind. There's going to be riots over this system. I'm not saying that's because the xbox fans are that die-hard. But the numbers will be soooooo freakin' limited. I want the premium package too. I think the only way we can say screw the core package to microsoft... is if they don't sell at all.

The Final Countdown!!! It's soooo close now. I'll be checkin' the stores around 9pm... just to make sure a line isn't forming. I plan on setting up camp around 10pm. Cause due to a few sources that seems to be a good time. Anyway... I won't be settled until I'm there and waiting tonight. Cause I gotta get me one (And I'm talking about the premium one too). I'll for sure be posting about it tomorrow, hopefully with good news.

I'm happy ^^ I don't have to work on the 360 release date ^^ But if I get one more call asking "Can I preorder?" (Who the hell thinks they can preorder the day before release date anyway?!) "Do you open at midnight?", "How many are you getting?" or "Can you set one aside for me?" I WILL tear my hair out . . . .

Update from the Circuit city employee!

As of 6:30 pm there are 7 people waiting in line for the 360 already. We don't hand out vouchers until 7:00 am tomorrow. We only have 23 units total.

These people are completly nuts.

It's f**king feezing outside.

(I kinda want to go out and sit down right in front of the first person though! Very Happy

I think it would be funny! Very Happy
