I tried to play Jak X and was about to start another exhibition when I froze....so I turned it off and tried to restart bit it froze before I got to the start screen Grr!

I hate it when technoldgy screws me Grr!

Anyway the disk has some marks on it that dont rub off, scratches maybe( but then again they probaly have been thier since I got it and never hindered performance). But also everytime the ps2 freezes I here some noise in the disk drive, maybe thats it.

if its an older PS2 it may be dirty and doesn't read it currectly. My PS2 actualy Plays my first game and that is so messed up. But it is a Slim from 2 months ago.

If they're just surface scratches, you shouldnt have anything to worry about, just try cleaning off the disk tray. If the scratches are deep and towards the middle of the disk, that's probably the problem. :x Whenever one of my disks gets scratched in the middle, it's gone.

Strange noises are never good. Usually it means the moving parts are hitting each other when they're not supposed to.

But what I find strange is that the noises occur only WITH jak x in it not for any others....
