about online translators : I think it's wise to be careful about them, they are good to traduce basic sentences but the traductions can be sometimes very... err ...surprising. The worst translator : google O_o

lol~ I've forgotten so much of french since I've dropped it a year and a half ago. Couldn't even count to twenty without prompting. But there [b]is[/b] one phrase I'll never forget in french: "Il fait frois."

Even though I can't translate English to French anymore, I'm still really good at translating French to English. Except since this is mostly learned from school, I don't know any colloquial (slang) phrases. ):

heh heh i don't know french really. when i went to canada i had the decency to learn some french.

but only enough to order food and ask where the bathroom was. after that people were really nice with the english.

Lucky bastard's getting to learn more then one language in school for free. I wish my high school and elementary school's had french or german. i'd be so much better off :(

so don't say your school's are all crappy. i've been in worse, financially wise. other then that my school's have there redeeming qualities :wub:

My sister speaks French. She's probably going to major in the subject (she's a sophmore in highschool and has already taken the highest class she can take on the subject, a class seniors usually take, and [b]aces [/b]it, of course <_< ).

Quebec used to be the Louisiana of Canada except the British took it by force rather than America purchasing the land. The king let the French speaking population keep the language and 25% of the Canadians remains to be First-French speakers. You can't possibly ignore them since 60% of Canadian politicians are French and 50% of our puny military. I'm learning French because it's widely used in... uh... Africa.

and The French aren't exactly angry with Canada, but Canada's intermingle with an extremely influential English-speaking neighbor, US.

We're yet to learn about the third treaty that was made. There was a huge majority of french people here but since the war was won by the english in 1673, we had to take then english laws, military and civil. I could still say much more because I got my notes right beside me Laughing

Meanwhile, yes, i speak french. In order to have a job in quebec, u pretty much have to speak french. All my coworkers and such are french. I am english. i speak both. :ph34r:
